Rugged but no upgrades and very low flash

It promised to have an Android update and it never did, from one day to the next the fingerprint recognition stopped working, the power of the flash led is very low, the imitation carbon fiber rear cover came off, it has little zoom and at the same time trying to see a photo by enlarging it with the function for this purpose does not make any difference... The good thing is that it is very resistant and the battery lasts a long time.

Good for the price, but not much, bad technical support

I've had it for over a year now, let's go in order: The good: High performance battery. Resistance to falls. Good speaker (although it is only one). Good night camera (Sony CMOS). Almost clean operating system. Practical rear screen. The bad: The fingerprint sensor has already failed and out of nowhere, it did not receive a hit or anything similar. Android 12 is not updated since it was offered by the company, in the forums its representatives assure that it is because they are focused on other new models. Unable to disable or uninstall an annoying application called DURASPEED, quite intrusive and does not respond to the settings it offers. The rear camera may be 60 megapixel, but the quality of the processing software is very bad, if you enlarge the image taken it comes out filled with dots and blurred, there is no improvement when zooming in even half. The colors are fine but the high resolution photos are horrible. Not to mention HDR. It does not have an update to Android 12, since it was offered on the official Doogee page on AliExpress. There was only a security patch in March 2023. The rear screen has no skin, or other functions than the only two (the time and limited song playback control) Suddenly the UI restarts for no reason. Conclusion: If you are only looking for a phone for work that does not require multimedia quality, that is for demanding environments and with a long-lasting battery, this is the right mobile, although no matter how durable it is, there will come a point where it will become obsolete due to lack of operating system update.

Third rugged: the best unfortunately after six months fingerprint broken, after a while also the speaker broken: Doogee does not respond

Third rugged and first Doogee: absolutely the best for sturdiness, design, quality of materials. I review the review after six months of use: I state that it has not undergone any particular "mistreatment", never dropped, always with a silicone cover and crystal screen protector and it actually looks brand new. NFC working (reads the Digital Identity Card) but impossible to make payments with google wallet even if apparently everything is OK (endless phone calls with the bank and with Google assistance). Unbeatable the screen which is readable in full sunlight (equal to the comparison with Samsung Galaxy S20 ultra 5G). Unfortunately, after six months of use, the fingerprint on the power button throws a tantrum that is, it works randomly, the restart is irrelevant; the smartphone reports fingerprint inactive. A week after the fingerprint defect, the ear-speaker also stopped working properly, so I can only make calls by connecting bluetooth headphones or hands-free. Two consultations are required for the repair at generic assistance centres: - the first center says that, from their experience, most likely it is problems with the card but in any case Doogee spare parts are not easily found. - the second assistance center says that, given the rapid succession of defects, it is the card and that the expense, attempting a repair with non-original parts, could exceed half the purchase cost. Purchased on AliExpress which does not replace the smartphone but promises to send me the fingerprint as soon as it is available (... ever?) while Doogee does not reply to emails and therefore it is not possible to exercise the one year guarantee: too bad!!! It would be a great phone, I probably had bad luck.Very disappointed with the NON-EXISTENT assistance.

    Disappointed

As a replacement for the doogee s96pro which was an ordeal 3 new smartphones in 14 months. For the price really disappointed with the v20. The automatic brightness adjustment really sucks. The fingerprint reader works when it wants. Above all, do not have dirty fingers. The sound is not terrible, even worse than on the S96pro. The photos with the night mode are less good than on the S96pro, being however more recent. The flash in torch mode does not illuminate anything, for a rugged smartphone it's a shame. The screen is fluid when it wants it to be. It seems fragile for a phone of this type. It will be the last doogee for me.

    The 3 B's

I bought it more than 1 month ago, I loved it because in my previous cell phone, which was a Motorola, the battery did not last, not to mention the games and more than anything I always drop my cell phones and they break and with this cell phone I do not it happens that it is very resistant until it has fallen into the pool and it has resisted it has passed the test of all kinds I recommend it the phone meets expectations and nothing to send with its amoled and HD screen that without saying that the games run from the most fluid I am very satisfied

Good phone except GPS and data.

The phone is quite complete, with fast charging, also by induction, but it heats up excessively. There are times when putting the GPS is totally blocked and you have to restart it to get it back to normal. It also happens when you switch from Wifi to 4G or 5G, you run out of data even though there is coverage, and you have to do the same thing, restart.

    King of indestructible rugged mobiles.

The Doogee V20 is a device in which quality can be seen in many aspects, the materials are a joy to the touch, well finished, smooth, it is very comfortable in the hand. The screen looks like a movie, an impressive amoled panel with 60Hz refresh rate, not 90, but the system runs very smoothly and it shows, power to spare, huge storage. Resistant to water (already tested), dust, falls, etc... The speaker sounds very good, it's powerful, the aluminum or steel buttons have a very high quality "touch" (I don't know how to explain it, it's like they are easy to squeeze, but at the same time they are not very soft, they are fabulous). The camera is surprising for the type of terminal it is, the selfie is incredible, and the night vision camera, everything is perfect. The battery in my case lasts me 2 and a half days, with normal/intense use (playing from time to time, looking at instagram, etc...) The phone is super nice, on the back in my case the glossy finish (not the carbon fiber one), it's very nice, it has a European design award, and I'm not surprised.

Smartphone for those who want it all, technology and robustness

The materials used are striking. The carbon effect of the rear part and the solidity of the material of the sides, a mixture of very resistant thermoplastic and CNC machined aluminium. The weight is less than other rugged models of the brand. This model has slimmed down in size, girth and weight. It mounts a MediaTek Dimensity 700 (MT6833/ZA) processor that, together with a configuration of 8 Gb of LPDDR4X RAM, Mali G57 MC2 GPU and its 256 Gb of UFS 2.2 memory, allows us to reach values of 362901 points in tests with Antutu. Clean Android 11, except for three of its own applications (contacts, phone and clock) as well as work tools that we will use in some work environments. A bubble level, compass, decibel meter, barometric pressure, etc. New additional screen next to the cameras, fully customizable, allows us to know the time, who is calling us or control the multimedia player in the same way that we would do with a sports bracelet or a smart watch. I see it indicated for active people, sports fans who want to take their mobile to record moments, scenes or landscapes, or to not lose communication with their loved ones. With guaranteed battery for the whole weekend. Without worrying that if you drop it, get it wet or full of mud, nothing will happen to it, that you can also orient yourself with the compass, take photos in the dark, record with night vision and even listen to the FM radio.

    Pros
    • Ruggedized, but content in weight and dimensions
    • Powerful hardware combination
    Cons

What is a Ki score?
Ki is an automatic score based on the specifications and prices of devices. It is calculated using over 200 variables to rank smartphones, tablets and other devices from best to worst.
How do we calculate the Ki?

In this case, to determine the score we evaluate 5 general aspects:

  • Design and screen
  • Hardware and performance
  • Camera
  • Connectivity
  • Battery

Once these 5 factors have been rated, we introduce the price variable. This means that any two devices with the same ratings get a different Ki score for quality vs price.

Even a device objectively worse than another may have a higher Ki score if it has a better price.

Does the Ki score change?

The Ki varies as time goes by. As new devices with better specifications enter the market the Ki score of older devices will go down, always being compensated of their decrease in price.
