  • So close...

It is an excellent mobile in terms of hardware but it falls very short in software.
First, the design is beautiful and feels premium in the hand, the screen is very good, very good viewing angles, good colors, I would have liked 120hz instead of 90hz but it is better than 60.
It feels fluid, and in demanding games it works well in anyone, the cpu is powerful as well as the graphics.
The camera is almost perfect, you take excellent daytime photos with impressive detail, the angle is very good and the video too, even against the light, the selfie is good too.
The connectivity has everything that today is premium so it goes without problems.
The battery lasts a full day and plenty, charging is super fast, and wireless is surprisingly fast.
Conclusions: If only I had GMS it would be a very good alternative but for now it is complicated.

    Excellent purchase option

I have been using the Mate 40 Pro for 2 years and the truth has not disappointed me at all, omitting the GMS it is an excellent team in terms of camera, design, performance and with excellent alternatives to GOOGLE services. 100% recommended for this 2022

It's the best I've ever tasted...

For me it is the best I have tried, in every way, mine is the Chinese model, I have it updated with HarmonyOS 3 and Google services. It works great for me, I recommend it to advanced users and to buy the Chinese model and that is the only one that supports the installation of Google services, 100℅ guaranteed....

    Huawei does not disappoint

In general, it complies with everything, in terms of performance it is noted that the processor is one of the best there was at the time, the only but that I put is in terms of sound because in the P40 the sound, despite being a single speaker, was loud and of good quality, but now in the mate 40 I feel that it lacks a lot of power compared to other phones of the same range, however in terms of quality it seems to me that it takes a 9, only in terms of how loud it is heard I give it an 8. The cameras are the best, the battery is very good, and in general everything is very good about this phone.

It lacks only the GMS !!!

The best smartphone that I tested, just after the Note 20 ultra Snap865 +, if the Huawei had the GMS I would have placed it in front of the Samsung, but unfortunately since EMUI 11 we can no longer install the Playstore at all, we must content with Gspace and some apps and games don't work with it. It's very hard for Huawei since the American sanctions, I'm afraid they won't survive very long, because even with the new Harmony OS the GMS will still be absent. It's a shame because put that aside the Mate 40 Pro comes close to flawlessness, it is of course the photos part that is the most impressive.

What is a Ki score?
Ki is an automatic score based on the specifications and prices of devices. It is calculated using over 200 variables to rank smartphones, tablets and other devices from best to worst.
How do we calculate the Ki?

In this case, to determine the score we evaluate 5 general aspects:

  • Design and screen
  • Hardware and performance
  • Camera
  • Connectivity
  • Battery

Once these 5 factors have been rated, we introduce the price variable. This means that any two devices with the same ratings get a different Ki score for quality vs price.

Even a device objectively worse than another may have a higher Ki score if it has a better price.

Does the Ki score change?

The Ki varies as time goes by. As new devices with better specifications enter the market the Ki score of older devices will go down, always being compensated of their decrease in price.
