  • Best all-around daily driver by LG ever

The best bang for your buck in 2019, even though comes only in refurbished options. The Korean version is the best value as it has the acclaimed Quad DAC and 64 GB of storage as well as all the 4G bands you need in Europe. This version is the first to get the latest updates, even the Pie in October 2019, unlike most other versions stuck with Oreo forever. On the downside, there are occasional Korean scripts in the settings, few
European languages (your language for the apps can be set if you know how to use adb commands on a PC) and the dreaded roaming clock is non-removable (on Android 9). The system is rather power efficient and the phone is of perfect size. After a year of use it is kind of laggy, seems a lot slower than its older sibling G5 and not up to power demanding tasks. Unlike G7 and later models, it has great support for Gcam app up to version 7.3 with the phenomenal NightSight (including for selfies), as camera2api is enabled out of the box. The refurbished variants have

    Pros
    • Best form factor and size there is
    • Great photos from both rear camera modules
    • Good power efficiency and nice LCD panel
    • Latest Android 9.0

  • A tragic phone experience that for the second time cements my distrust in LG as a tech company

Poor performance, lags constantly, never more than 1.1 GB of free ram on a clean install and tragic experience for basic phone functions.

It was a very good phone that fit well in your hand and was very well rounded. Only downside was the battery never lasted me all day and after about a year I started to experience lag.

  • Great phone for the price.

I think this is a great phone. The downsides are the software updates, especially because mine is an Australian model. It takes exceptional photos in daytime, but at night it's a bit grainy and the selfie camera is awful. It's pretty fast and the pre-installed software is OK. Asphalt 9 lags on it so the GPU isn't great. Another thing to take into consideration is that it isn't popular so repairs, cases and screen protectors will be hard to get.

What is a Ki score?
Ki is an automatic score based on the specifications and prices of devices. It is calculated using over 200 variables to rank smartphones, tablets and other devices from best to worst.
How do we calculate the Ki?

In this case, to determine the score we evaluate 5 general aspects:

  • Design and screen
  • Hardware and performance
  • Camera
  • Connectivity
  • Battery

Once these 5 factors have been rated, we introduce the price variable. This means that any two devices with the same ratings get a different Ki score for quality vs price.

Even a device objectively worse than another may have a higher Ki score if it has a better price.

Does the Ki score change?

The Ki varies as time goes by. As new devices with better specifications enter the market the Ki score of older devices will go down, always being compensated of their decrease in price.
