I own this phone for ten days now. I came from a Nokia 8 and Pixel 2 XL, so pure Android. What's the difference? The G8S is in every aspect much more personalisable (?) than the others. And I like that. I know that in the public opion there are some complaints about the LG UX software. For me UX 8.0 is simple to understand and offers much more choice than stock android. And it works from the box, so you don't have to customize it.
The battery is more than sufficient for me. Around 6 to 8 hours screen on time (some bluetooth, no no 3/4G). Which is perfect.
The camera's on the rearside are really good. I don't know how good, but in daily life absolutely good enough. The video's are even better.
This definitely this finest phone I have owned (Moto X 2014, Moto X Force, Nokia 8, Pixel 2XL) .- 9.8

View answers- AutoAll good but THE BATTERY IS A DIRTY
I have had it for two years and I have always had a single problem: the battery is terrifying, I don't know how they have done it so badly, it doesn't matter if you change it because it has little capacity, I never get a full day but now that it is degrades does not even reach half. For the rest everything great is literally an incredible mobile with a catatonic battery that seems to have been conceived to screw up the life of whoever owns the mobile.

Excellent smartphone: very good CPU, good screen, photo quality, good battery life. And what's more, it's IP68 waterproof! My wife really uses it a lot, on Netflix or Youtube, the battery nevertheless only lasts the day if she really insists. The screen is very nice, both indoors and outdoors. On the photo side, the rendering is very flattering when you publish on Facebook or other but in the detail of a 100% zoom, there is a strong smoothing which is applied. LG has natively integrated the Android Desktop mode, as soon as you connect an external screen you can use it in desktop mode, very practical. Provide a protective shell anyway.
Pros- General photo quality
- Screen
- SnapDragon 855
- IP68
- Jack plug
Cons- Smoothing photos a little overdone

Score
- 6.8 Design & Materials
- 6.5 Performance & Hardware
- 6.0 Camera
- 5.7 Connectivity
- 4.9 Battery
In this case, to determine the score we evaluate 5 general aspects:
- Design and screen
- Hardware and performance
- Camera
- Connectivity
- Battery
Once these 5 factors have been rated, we introduce the price variable. This means that any two devices with the same ratings get a different Ki score for quality vs price.
Even a device objectively worse than another may have a higher Ki score if it has a better price.
The Ki varies as time goes by. As new devices with better specifications enter the market the Ki score of older devices will go down, always being compensated of their decrease in price.
