  • Not a bad phone but has some drawbacks

My previous phone was an original Google Pixek. The G9 Play is not bad at all, but I have been used to some features I do not have right now. The phone is over weight, the 5000mAh battery, also makes the phone feel fat and over sized. The other disappointment is the camera. The main shooter is a 48MP sensor, but as the sensor brand is not disclosed, I must say is neither the Sony nor the Samsung sensor. Even the 4year old Pixel takes better pictures and videos.

    Repentance.

At the time I got this cell phone because it was my first option and I had no idea how to judge a good or bad cell phone. I bought it in 2020-2021 and used it until 2023.

    Pleasant

Good for games and basic activities, for common users you won't have anything to complain about in excess of the 64GB memory, but for users like me who play more than 8 hours a day then it leaves something to be desired.

Well depending on how much you buy it for.

It was a good cell phone given my case. I bought it on sale used for 25 dollars (current official dollar = 800 pesos) in June 2023 in Argentina, at that time it was a good purchase, now in January 2024 it is around 65 dollars on Facebook Marketplace, I don't know if I would buy it again , maybe if I found it very cheap, since due to the use that I give to the device (social networks, watching series and videos, light games and daily tasks) I would prefer to buy a cheaper one that performs well in those tasks.

Good at the beginning, terrible at the end

It was very good at the beginning, fluid and everything. But after a few years the system itself did not run. And Motorola is terrible at updates. This cell phone should have received at least Android 11 or 12.

    Decent despite the weather.

I've had it for almost a year and it works well. The battery lasts and even more if you know how to deactivate functions or apps that use battery. The cameras are greatly improved with a stable gcam, because the stock camera usually has very gray colors even in HDR mode. The screen is ok in terms of brightness and if you don't mind HD+ you won't have any problems. In games I am not very demanding and I know that in heavy games it can get a little hot, but it is because I live in a hot area. Ultimately, and taking into account its release date, it is very useful for everyday use.

What is a Ki score?
Ki is an automatic score based on the specifications and prices of devices. It is calculated using over 200 variables to rank smartphones, tablets and other devices from best to worst.
How do we calculate the Ki?

In this case, to determine the score we evaluate 5 general aspects:

  • Design and screen
  • Hardware and performance
  • Camera
  • Connectivity
  • Battery

Once these 5 factors have been rated, we introduce the price variable. This means that any two devices with the same ratings get a different Ki score for quality vs price.

Even a device objectively worse than another may have a higher Ki score if it has a better price.

Does the Ki score change?

The Ki varies as time goes by. As new devices with better specifications enter the market the Ki score of older devices will go down, always being compensated of their decrease in price.
