  • Good value; fair-ish wifi; poor, wandering GPS -

The GPS gets a quick and reliable fix, but the fixed location wanders within a 50m radius irrespective of the GPS test result for accuracy - after looking into it for some time, it seems a typical gripe for the SOC so, because of the barely acceptable GPS, I wouldn't buy another mediatek based device once this one bites the dust.

    Pros
    • good value, lack of bloatware, good screen, fast.
    Cons
    • poor low-light camera with stupid shutter sound (really....)
    • wandering GPS and no compass

  • Great phone for the money, well recomended!

The Thor is an example of a very good balance of phone hardware and powerful at that. For the money its a capable 8 core phone with tons of Ram and storage. Sharp screen and ambient light sensor. It feels slender and small in the hand with baby skin back. Its more than enough for everyday use and the 2800mAh battery will get over a day with moderate use. The camera for me is the real surprise, its an unbranded 13mp sensor but it can take some nice photos, super sharp, quick focus and work reasonably well in low light. For me it is comparable to my old Jiayu S3 plus Sony IMX214 camera. I really cant think of anything bad to say about this phone. Maybe to push the battery over 3000mAh's in future models would be good. As with other Vernee models the vanilla OS could be more refined with less memory leaks but all in all very happy with it.

    Pros
    • Sharp bright HD screen
    • Suttle, slender design
    • 2800mAh Battery
    • 8X Cores, 3Gb Ram
    • Super Camera
    Cons
    • No Quick Charge
    • Speaker a bit low ( not to much )
    • Memory leaky OS ( needs soft reboot time to time )
    • No notification LED

Ki Cost-effective
Score
Not available
What is a Ki score?
Ki is an automatic score based on the specifications and prices of devices. It is calculated using over 200 variables to rank smartphones, tablets and other devices from best to worst.
How do we calculate the Ki?

In this case, to determine the score we evaluate 5 general aspects:

  • Design and screen
  • Hardware and performance
  • Camera
  • Connectivity
  • Battery

Once these 5 factors have been rated, we introduce the price variable. This means that any two devices with the same ratings get a different Ki score for quality vs price.

Even a device objectively worse than another may have a higher Ki score if it has a better price.

Does the Ki score change?

The Ki varies as time goes by. As new devices with better specifications enter the market the Ki score of older devices will go down, always being compensated of their decrease in price.
