- johnnytan4302Xiaomi Redmi K30 Pro ZoomChina · 8GB · 256GB · Zoom7 months agoEdit commentReportAre you sure?ContinueBought this at around USD470 in Oct 2020 (used for 1 year at this point).
Was deciding between this and the global version (poco F2 pro). The differences aren't huge except that the China version(this phone) has slightly better camera (telephoto instead of macro lens) and Xiaomi usually have longer support time for the Chinese version as compared to the Global version. The Zoom version is better than the non-Zoom version as well.
I understand Chinese but operate the phone in mainly English and the occasional Chinese apps don't bother me (heard that they could be uninstalled). The AI (akin to Apple's Siri is in Chinese though).
Even today after a year of usage I don't notice any performance drops even when playing demanding phone games.
The speaker is really well built and strong, you could feel the air displacement from it. I've accidentally dropped my phone into water twice and both times there were no defect to the phone.
The camera might not be that good at darker lightings and the 5G band might be limited in some regions (I'm not using 5G).- 9.7

Score
- 8.2 Design & Materials
- 8.1 Performance & Hardware
- 7.7 Camera
- 6.2 Connectivity
- 7.0 Battery
In this case, to determine the score we evaluate 5 general aspects:
- Design and screen
- Hardware and performance
- Camera
- Connectivity
- Battery
Once these 5 factors have been rated, we introduce the price variable. This means that any two devices with the same ratings get a different Ki score for quality vs price.
Even a device objectively worse than another may have a higher Ki score if it has a better price.
The Ki varies as time goes by. As new devices with better specifications enter the market the Ki score of older devices will go down, always being compensated of their decrease in price.
