After 5 weeks of waiting I finally received the Xiaomi redmi note 8 smartphone.
Just like the Redmi note 7 that I used until now, the Redmi note 8 is a Xiaomi 4G smartphone with an impressive value for money.
In terms of performance, the Redmi note 8 smartphone is equipped with a SnapDragon 665.
This SOC is mid-range oriented and allows fluid use of all the applications that can be found in the play store.
Coupled with this SOC, we have the choice of having 3 or 4 GB of RAM and 32 or 64 GB of storage.
Antutu Redmi Note 8: 173991 points
The 6.3 inch screen is great, just a notch like drop on the top of the screen.
The colors, the brightness, the viewing angles .... are clearly under control.
The 4000 mAh autonomy of the Redmi note 8 smartphone is comfortable and can last between one to two days with fairly sustained use of the phone.
The Redmi note 8 camera is really good.Positives
- Batterie 4000mAh
- USB C
- Charge sans fil ?
- Excellent 2019 midrange phone in budget price
Got it for just about 140USD online flash sale on a local e-commerce platform but it actually ships from China with global firmware. Recognized by Antutu and serial number is verified authentic in Xiaomi verification website page. The price-performance ratio for all the bells and whistles that came with it is actually very good. Satisfactory performance and quality on sounds and calls. Mobile signals, wireless connections, bluetooth, GPS and IR works well but the wireless FM still needs a headphone to be usable so it's not wireless at all. Display is also good for an IPS but nothing more to write home about. Got a system software update already after less than 24 hours of usage. Battery life and charging performance are within expected parameters.Positives
- Excellent price-performance ratio
- Tri-slot, IR blaster
- Good front and rear daylight camera performance
- Gorilla Glass 5, some splash protection
- FM radio is not wireless at all
- Fingerprint is a hit or miss sometimes
- Some Xiaomi bloatware and pre-installed apps
- No actual IP protection

In this case, to determine the score we evaluate 5 general aspects:
- Design and screen
- Hardware and performance
Once these 5 factors have been rated, we introduce the price variable. This means that any two devices with the same ratings get a different Ki score for quality vs price.
Even a device objectively worse than another may have a higher Ki score if it has a better price.
The Ki varies as time goes by. As new devices with better specifications enter the market the Ki score of older devices will go down, always being compensated of their decrease in price.
