The Samsung Galaxy S10 is one of the most celebrated phones of 2019 and has been able to raise the bar for high-end smartphones. It was released in February, 2019 with a design that has some modern features, like an edge-to-edge display and the latest in materials.

On the design front, the Galaxy S10 has an AMOLED display measuring 6.1 inches in size and with a resolution of 1440x3040 (WQHD+) giving you supreme image quality for photos and videos. It has a peak brightness of 1200 cd/m² and a contrast ratio of 2000000:1 making it a great phone for consuming multimedia content. The display also has a curved edge and is HDR10+ certified which means you can access content created in HDR.

The audio on the Galaxy S10 is provided by AKG stereo speakers and Dolby Atmos technology. This creates a surround sound effect which is perfect for gaming or listening to music. Additionally, thanks to Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection and a usable surface of 87.6%, it’s a durable phone that will last.

In terms of hardware, the Galaxy S10 is powered by Samsung Exynos 9 9820 (8nm) processor and 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM. Internal storage options are 128GB, 512GB and 256GB of UFS Storage 2.1 making sure that there’s plenty of room for all your images, videos and apps. On the AnTuTu benchmark, the S10 scored 415000 which shows that it’s faster than most other phones. The Galaxy S10 also has a fingerprint display for added security.

One of the highlights of the Galaxy S10 is the camera. It has a triple camera setup featuring a standard Samsung SAK2L4 sensor with 12MP, f/1.5-2.4 and ISOCELL. Telephoto lens is provided by Samsung S5K3M3 at 13MP and wide angle lens at 16MP, f/2.2. Selfies are also taken care of with the 10MP Samsung S5K3J1 sensor with pixel size 1.220 and aperture of f/1.9. The phone also has Optical Stabilization (OIS), 4K Video, Telephoto, Optical Image Stabilization, 45º angle lens and autofocus.

Connectivity is taken care of with Bluetooth 5.0, dual SIM, NFC, audio jack, WiFi 6 (802.11ax). In terms of power, the Galaxy S10 has a 3400mAh battery with 15.0W fast charging and wireless charging. It also has reverse charging capabilities, so you can charge other devices from the S10.

Overall, the Samsung Galaxy S10 is one of the highest-end smartphones you can buy. It has a great design with an amazing display, powerful hardware and a great camera. However, it is quite fragile and there have been reports of short battery life. Additionally, it does not come with 5G support.

What is a Ki score?
Ki is an automatic score based on the specifications and prices of devices. It is calculated using over 200 variables to rank smartphones, tablets and other devices from best to worst.
How do we calculate the Ki?

In this case, to determine the score we evaluate 5 general aspects:

  • Design and screen
  • Hardware and performance
  • Camera
  • Connectivity
  • Battery

Once these 5 factors have been rated, we introduce the price variable. This means that any two devices with the same ratings get a different Ki score for quality vs price.

Even a device objectively worse than another may have a higher Ki score if it has a better price.

Does the Ki score change?

The Ki varies as time goes by. As new devices with better specifications enter the market the Ki score of older devices will go down, always being compensated of their decrease in price.
