  Best all-around daily driver by LG ever

  The best bang for your buck in 2019, even though comes only in refurbished options. The Korean version is the best value as it has the acclaimed Quad DAC and 64 GB of storage as well as all the 4G bands you need in Europe. This version is the first to get the latest updates, even the Pie in October 2019, unlike most other versions stuck with Oreo forever. On the downside, there are occasional Korean scripts in the settings, few
  European languages (your language for the apps can be set if you know how to use adb commands on a PC) and the dreaded roaming clock is non-removable (on Android 9). The system is rather power efficient and the phone is of perfect size. After a year of use it is kind of laggy, seems a lot slower than its older sibling G5 and not up to power demanding tasks. Unlike G7 and later models, it has great support for Gcam app up to version 7.3 with the phenomenal NightSight (including for selfies), as camera2api is enabled out of the box.   Flawed power user's dream

  The devices hard to love, but it is exceptional in many ways. The screen is too wide for comfortable handling, the reception is choppy, the rooting procedure is rather cumbersome and screen burn in issues required kernel tweaks to fix. If you are a true power user and like to take fate in your own hands, own some ordinary tin foil and super glue you can customize this legendary beast of a device to your liking and have some great time, even in 2019 when it costs pennies to get your hands on one. P.S. still waiting for Android Pie, LG do you hear me?

  • sublime earphone audio quality via QUAD DAC
  • can be rooted with relative ease, TWRP plus Magisk
  • large enough and removable battery

  • too wide for one handed operation
  • very weak GSM antenna, fixable with a tin foil mod
  • most versions (H910) require rooting to be usable

  Highly defective piece of crap

  I truly regret for choosing this underbaked device from Xiaomi. It seems like you get what you pay for, but still it is much worse than that. Would not recommend for anyone. In short, it has too many negatives to list in this website.

  • WiFi is a joke, extremely weak and slow, tends to disconnect
  • Loudspeaker is cracky, expecially when covered

  Misleading specs taint a great device

  Be wary that most of the models currently on sale will come with the Samsung sensor instead of the superior Sony IMX. If the colour fidelity is not the thing that bothers you, then you will be happy with your purchase of a capable mobile.

  A downgraded cameraphone still looks and feels great

  The latest "down-to-earth" revision of the model - Y813 - which is currently offered for sale by many sellers apparently has some improvements and one significant disappointing downgrade - a "real" 5 MP camera module instead of the IMX149.
  
  The phone looks and feels like a more expensive device (except the back panel). The HD screen is colourful and gorgeous to look at.
  
  Programs run well but the manufacturer placed some limitations on graphical demanding games - most of them have higher graphics options disabled for some reason, unlike in other phones running the same hardware.
  
  Despite that, I did not notice any WiFi issues reported by the owners of the phone of the earlier revisions.
  
  Don't get fooled by gleaming reviews and description - this is no longer a "camera-centrered" device. The Iphone camera is long gone, replaced with an ages-old Ominvision sensor with mere 5 MP, albeit the phone boasts 13 MP photos. The output is only mediocre, but not the worst.

  Android 6.0 with HD screen for 40 bucks? No bad!

  A gem of a device this cheap (bought during pre-sale for 40 bucks). It has decent modern looks, a very nice display, the latest OS on board and great build quality.
  
  It has many advantages for its target audience. The main drawbacks are a dated 5 MP camera with lots of purple fringing, noise and yesterday's colour reproduction. On the other hand, the camera unit has a quite snappy and precise focus. The video recording performance is OK, but not quite up to modern standards.
  
  Freshly-baked Android 6.0 really brings some refreshing benefits. It is snappy and makes a really good use of a single megabyte of RAM. The lack of operating memory is noticeable only on rare occasions.
  
  Plays some high graphic games on medium graphics settings, which is pretty nice. But since the battery drain on gaming and GPS is very pronounced, a nearby power source is a must.
  
  Should do perfectly for an adolescent or any other beginner level user of the Android system.

  Pros

  • Colourful HD resolution display with acceptable sunglight visibility
  • Perfectly functional GPS
  • Great WiFi reception, stability and speed
  • Decent multimedia performance
  • Good sound from speakers and earphones
  • Nicely sounding built-in radio

  • Non-OGS display with a sub-par touchscreen on top
  • Rather disappointing front and back cameras

  Sorry to see that gem of technology being phased out

  This model has raised the bar what would you expect from low-cost mobiles forever. The build quality of the InFocus brand is indeed beyond impeccable.
  
  The device has many pluses in every category. A standout feature is a dual 8 MP Sony IMX179 camera setup, on the front and on the back. It even often seams it is making better selfies than regular photos with a back camera!! The overall camera performance is phenomenal for the price. Full HD videos are so-so, the footage is butter-smooth only in good lighting and struggles in low-lighting conditions.
  
  The screen resolution is simply unbeatable in the market for a screen so compact.

  A terrible experience of a promising mobile

  This extremely sluggish beast of the past has suffered from probably every bug and failure a mobile can experience in a lifetime.
  Now it has a failed camera, extremely low microphone output, very sluggish performance despite of 1 gig of ram. But I guess you get what you pay for. At least it has a great quality FULL HD screen which develops white patches across the board after several years of use. Gaming is surprisingly smooth, but launching apps takes ages, you cannot even use the Facebook Messenger due to memory issues.. The quality control was just abysmal for these mobiles.
  
  It is such a relief to know that it is now merely a historical item and not a daily driver anymore..

  Bleeding-edge technology with a few compromises

  This Chinese-made gem has many upsides that are too many to list. It is fast charging, uses a (r)evolutionary USB Type-C, has great sound output, high-bitrate youtube content looks simply stunning on a high-quality screen, etc.
  
  There are some serious drawbacks though. The majority of units suffer from drops in WiFi connection, especially when a mobile heats up a little. This issue apparently cannot be resolved only by software mods. Thankfully, this is not apparent that much in most of the apps.
  
  Camera here is such a mixed bag: The manufacturer does not seam to put much effort in updating image processing engine, which would benefit from the overhaul, as it has a brilliant Sony sensor with some not bad optics and the camera could produce even better output, especially in low light. The main game changer here is IOS which allows you to use shutter speeds as low as 1/2 seconds. But there is no bulb mode and you are limited to using high ISOs for night shooting.
  
  A great choice!
