  • Nice phone, nothing special apart from the price

Got the phone as a work-phone and after a few weeks i started to use it also as a private device because I don't like to carry 2 phones with me. The XR is dual-sim, but unfortunately there is only place for 1 physical sim. The second has to be an e-sim. Because my private mobile provider did not have e-sims and my employer didn't want to switch the sim I now forward my phone-calls to my work-number. Not so nice.
Now, a few month later I am used to the Apple, however it looks in fact still an Android phone with all the Android apps in the homescreen and the Apple-apps hidden...
The phone is quite big (even bigger with the otterbox case i use) but not too big for daily use. The screen is not better than the €150 Xiaomi's I was used to. Al the apps I use work quick and fluent, so no complaints about performance.
The best positive surprice was the camera-quality. Sharp, bright, nice!
The battery is at 70% after a normal day. When I use it for videoconferencing it is draining very fast.

    • performance
    Cons
    • big and heavy

  • Google One is not as perfect as expected

Bought in august 2018, but already looks a bit outdated thanks to the big top and bottom beezels. At the other hand, the phone is quite slim and light. After an Android update I experienced a serious problem with Android in combination with the choosen language (dutch) so I had to switch to english. Another drawback is the hardness of the screen. It is not as scratch resistant as I expected...
The battery is enough for 1 working day and the camera is working fine.

    Pros
    • Android One updates
    • Nice photos
    • Nice screen
    • Fast enough

    Cons
    • Android (dutch language) crashes after update

  • Perfect workhorse for everyday use

I started to use the phone in september 2018 for everyday use and it never let me down so far. I was surpised by the battery: on an average day I use 25%. Android One is great: I feel secured thanks to regular updates and Google gives me free cloud storage for all full-size photos. Another positive point is de hardware: the phone holds nice in my hand and is drop and scratch resistant (I can tell from my experience...).
I expected a bit more from the cameras: photos are sometimes very nice and other times a bit unsharp. Maybe i need to practice more.
Best of all is of course that this phone comes at a very afordable price.

    Pros
    • Google One: always up-to-date
    • price
    • drop/scratch resistancy
    • pleasant grip
    • solid software, no crashes so far

  • For more than 2 years a stable friend. Never a problem.

Bought for around $120 in spring 2015. Now after 2 years it is still going strong. I use it mostly for calls, (wifi) internet, simple games and snapshot photo's.
A screen protector film protects the nice IPS screen, because the phone has no Gorilla glass.
With 8.9 mm the phone is quite thick, especially when you add a flip-case.

    Pros
    • build quality
    • still very stable system
    • screen
    • photo's
    Cons
    • too thick

  • Great phone; by far the best camera for the budget; unfortunately no Android update and screen burn

Overall a great phone. I bought it new for only $120 (incl. shipment) on Ebay and that is still a great deal. Major plus is the camera with image stabilisation. Drawback is the fact you can't update this particular D850 model without an activated AT&T sim. So I'm stuck with Android 4.2.2 although there's a 6.0 update for other G3 users. The phone works fluent on 4.2.2, but stil...
Another disappointment are some burning spots on the screen, due to overheating it seems. Take care!

  • Great design and proper functionality for everyday use. Unfortunately it suffers from ad pop-ups I can't delete.

I own and use the phone now for almost 1 year.
Great design of gorilla glass and metal. In my opinion it has not the proper 2.5 curved glass that was promised, but it is very slim. It came with a nice pu-leather flip-case and even with this case the phone looks still very slim. I dropped the phone a couple of times and apart from some scratches at the corners it still functions and looks ok. A minor drawback is that the phone is slightly curved as a result of regular stay in a pocket of my jeans.
The phone functions fine and as expected. I never play demanding games or use it in a VR-box, but all other regular apps work fine. Minor negatives are the quality of the microphone and the speakers. I recieved and installed one firmware update.
The battery-life (!) and the quality of photos and movies are above my low expectations...
Very anoying is the unstoppable load of ad pop-ups. Every time I start or close an app an advertisement appears. No solution so far. Please help!

    • price
