I have never owned a Xiaomi before so I was not expecting that I'm buying an android apple.
I love my nova launcher and it gives me plenty of functions I'm not willing to live without. I love android for this customisation. So xiaomi decided that's not the way they want it. First in MIUI14 you don't even have the option to set your default home app (you can get there through nova but it is hidden otherwise). Then if you like 3rd party launcher AND gesture navigation Xiaomi has a bad news for you. It is not possible to have both. This in my opinion is fundamentally not how you want any android device in your hands.
Otherwise all was fine but in general didn't get convinced and software limitations were a huge blow to me.Pros- JPGs are pretty decent in Auto mode
- Charging speed and battery life is great
- Screen has accurate nice colors
- Phone is fast and snappy
- Good build quality
Cons- Xiaomi system (see detailed comment)
- RAW is very poor quality
- Camera module frequently froze out (needs reset)
- Aggressive ISO settings (too bright)
- Camera module is a mountain: 13mm thick there...
- Very top heavy, difficult to handle
