Technical sheet of Xiaomi Redmi Note 8
Description
Xiaomi with its sub-brand Redmi has wanted to continue in the competitive world of the mid-range and as it did with the Redmi Note 7, it has launched a mobile with the best quality / price ratio of the 2019 year: The Redmi Note 8 .
A super camera for a mid-range mobile
One of the points where Xiaomi has wanted to take care with this terminal is in the photographic aspect and has incorporated up to 4 cameras that provide us with the best possible experience in a mobile of this price range. The main one has a Samsung S5KGM1 sensor of 48 megapixels that delight anyone in good light conditions and does not fall short when the light begins to run out. It is accompanied by a wide angle sensor that allows us to obtain these panoramic photographs without having to opt for special modes. It also has a special 2Megapixels Macro sensor for photographing nearby objects. Finally, it adds a fourth 2 Megapixel sensor that allows you to manage the Bokeh effect for our blur effects. On the front we have a great camera of 13 Megapixels for our selfies within a drop notch.
Processor... more than enough
In this case Xiaomi has opted for the use of Snapdragon 665, a processor more than tested within the mid-range, capable of moving our multimedia content with solvency, although to be fair it is not enough to move the most demanding games in its highest resolution . While it is true that Xiaomi has equipped this mobile with several Ram / Rom settings that allow us to choose the one that best suits our needs, from 3GB / 32GB, to the most powerful 4GB / 128GB, through the 4GB configuration / 64GB that is possibly the most balanced of all.
Battery to hold the day
Lately 4000mAh mobiles are being imposed, of course it is an optimal capacity to allow us to withstand our days with a more demanding use without problems. As if that were not enough, Xiaomi has added fast charging so that we can have the mobile ready in just 1 hour and 20 minutes.
We miss the absence of NFC, which have incorporated the Redmi Note 8T, although in return Xiaomi has not forgotten to add the FM radio and the notifications LED.

- Was a good smartphone for the price range but last update kill it.
When I bought this smartphone in 2020 for the price was a good equipment but the few updates Xiaomi release for it had killed the smartphone. The battery start running out very quickly, now passed 3 and half years from the moment I bought it and the battery barely hangs for a half a day. The smartphone is constantly crashing the applications and in some cases the UI, meaning periods of freezing that can reach to 4 or 5 mins. And sometimes it restarts by its own when it cannot recover from the freezing. Wi-Fi sometimes disconnects by itself.
The fact to have a short storage doesn't also contribute for the good health of the smartphone in a time that the applications are each time bigger.
In general, was a very good smartphone for the price, but I can say the last OS update 2 years ago +/- killed it for good.
I'm looking for a new one, because I already had problems at an airport to show my ticket…smartphone had frozen in that precise moment, what a lucky mine. :-|Pros- Good relation price/quality

Let's be real here - at this price point no one should expect anything more than a so-so experience with below to average marks in everything. Have been using it for the last 4 years, and it's pretty laggy if all the MIUI bloats aren't removed, which definitely shows its age. Still useable though, the Snapdragon 665 cannot punch above its weight, but light usage is handleable. A phone this cheap should not have a glass back, but there's one anyway, and this decision baffles me - why includes a glass back if it doesn't need one, especially without wireless charging? Audio and screen are definitely sub-par, same for charging. The main camera is usable, the rest of them are definitely fillers. Still, for this price, I did not regret my decision buying this device.
