I bought the phone after some months of reading reviews online and from user groups. It has the features you will only usually see in flagships - splash proofing, NFC, IR blaster, ultra wide and macro cameras. I already tried to use the phone in a heavy rain without damaging it. The set of cameras are also great, no more need for a third party camera app such as GCam. The UI is also nice, I get to using the phone on full screen display using only gestures. The default apps also has unique features (calculator, alarm). I am now on my 4th month using the phone and still discovering some useful features and being amazed. The phone aesthetics is also comparable with the flagships.
I had this phone as my daily driver for more than a year before I knew Redmi Note 8 Pro. Asus MPM1 has a very good battery life. Default camera isn't that good, selfies are pinkish. This has been resolved thru GCam which has excellent colors. This phone also has a dedicated microSD slot which I really like. I am also using the phone mainly for browsing and checking emails - I'm getting a day and a half of battery life.
I upgraded to Redmi Note 8 Pro after a year as Asus MPM1's screen is already looking old with it's thick top and bottom bezels, also the camera is just limited to 2. I gave this phone to my mom and she loves it much better than her previous Samsung J7 which has a very short battery life.
