About this comparison

POCO F4GT and Poco X5 Pro 5G – Analyzing the Differences Between Two Smartphones

POCO, the Xiaomi sub-brand, has made a name for itself in the world of technology with its wide range of smartphones. From high-end models to mid-range devices, POCO has something to offer for everyone.

In this article, we’re going to look at two of these devices: the POCO F4 GT and the Poco X5 Pro 5G. These two phones have different specs and design elements, so let’s take a closer look and compare them side by side.

Design & Materials

The POCO F4 GT has a metal unibody design, made of aluminium alloy and glass. The back is covered with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus, providing excellent protection against fingerprints, scratches, and minor impacts. It also features an 83.8% screen-to-body ratio and a 2.5D curved edge, making it look and feel modern.

The Poco X5 Pro 5G, on the other hand, is made of plastic and features a Gorilla Glass 5 back panel. It has a slightly lower screen-to-body ratio of 86.3%, but still looks great.

Hardware

The hardware on the POCO F4 GT is top of the line. It comes equipped with a Snapdragon 8 series processor with 4nm process technology and up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. This is combined with a 5000000:1 contrast ratio, HDR10+ display, dual VC liquid cooling system, X-Axis Haptic Vibration Motor,120 Hz display refresh rate, 4860 mm2 VC soaking plate, IO Turbo tech, and variable resolution rendering for higher frame rates when gaming.

The Poco X5 Pro 5G offers slightly less powerful hardware, including a Snapdragon 778G processor, 6nm technology, up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. It has a display refresh rate of 120 Hz, 500 cd/m² brightness, HDR10, and a 5000000:1 contrast ratio.

Cameras

The POCO F4 GT has a triple camera setup on the back, with a 64MP primary shooter (Sony IMX686 Exmor RS), an 8MP wide-angle lens (Omnivision OV8856), and a 2MP macro lens. It can record 4K video and features a 6P lens and ultra-wide-angle 120° FOV. For selfies, you get a 20MP (Sony IMX596) front camera.

The Poco X5 Pro 5G also has a triple rear camera setup, comprising of a 108MP primary shooter ( Samsung S5KHM2), an 8MP wide-angle lens (Samsung S5K4H7), and a 2MP macro lens (Omnivision OV02B10). Its selfie camera is a 16MP one (Omnivision OV16A1Q) and it can also record up to 4K video.

Connectivity & Battery

Both phones come with Bluetooth 5.2, Dual SIM slots, NFC, WiFi 6 (802.11ax), and GPS (L1+L5). However, the POCO F4 GT also features an extra infrared port which is lacking on the Poco X5 Pro 5G.

In terms of battery, the POCO F4 GT has a 4700mAh cell and supports 120W fast charging, while the Poco X5 Pro 5G has a 5000mAh battery with support for 67W fast charging.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the POCO F4 GT and the Poco X5 Pro 5G are both great phones with some minor differences. The F4 GT is the higher-end device, featuring a metal unibody design, top-of-the-line hardware, and a triple camera setup. The X5 Pro 5G, on the other hand, is a more affordable mid-range phone with a plastic build, slightly weaker hardware, and a triple camera setup as well.
