POCO F9 Pro vs Xiaomi 17T Pro: Comparison

The POCO F9 Pro and Xiaomi 17T Pro represent two ambitious 2026 smartphones aimed at users who want flagship-level performance, advanced cameras and large batteries, although they approach the market from different positions. The POCO F9 Pro is presented as a high-end device scheduled for release in September 2026, while the Xiaomi 17T Pro arrives earlier, in May 2026, as a highly specified mid-range handset.

Its screen-to-body ratio reaches 91.1%, helping it achieve a modern, edge-focused appearance despite using a polycarbonate construction. Power comes from Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 V processor, built on a 3nm process. Combined with 12GB of LPDDR5X Ultra Pro quad-channel RAM and either 256GB or 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage, the phone is designed for demanding multitasking and high-end mobile gaming. Its AnTuTu v11 score of 3,650,400 places it firmly among the fastest devices in its category. A dedicated cooling system should also help maintain performance during lengthy gaming sessions or 8K video recording.

Photography is another major focus. The rear triple-camera system includes a 200-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL HP5 main camera with an f/1.69 aperture and optical image stabilisation. The Xiaomi is powered by MediaTek’s 3nm Dimensity 9500 chipset, paired with 12GB or 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM. Storage options include 256GB, 512GB and 1TB, all using UFS 4.1 technology. Its AnTuTu v11 result of 3,485,900 suggests exceptional performance, even if it sits marginally behind the POCO in benchmark terms. Like its rival, it includes display fingerprint security and a cooling system.

Its triple-camera arrangement uses a 50-megapixel Omnivision 950 LightHunter primary sensor with f/1.7 aperture and OIS, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a 50-megapixel telephoto unit. A 32-megapixel selfie camera completes the setup, with 4K and 8K recording available.

Both handsets offer Bluetooth 6.0, dual SIM support, eSIM, NFC, Wi-Fi 6, L1+L5 GPS and infrared connectivity. Battery life should be excellent: the POCO F9 Pro has a 6,330mAh battery, while the Xiaomi 17T Pro increases this to a substantial 7,000mAh. Both support 100W wired charging, wireless charging and reverse charging, making them versatile choices for power users.
