The Samsung Galaxy A Series: Mid-Range Smartphones with the Latest Technology

For some time now, Samsung has been offering a wide selection of mid-range smartphones in the form of their A series. This series has included phones like the Galaxy A11, A21s and more. Now, two of its latest models, the Samsung Galaxy A32 and A52 are reaching the market. Let’s take a look at what they have to offer.

Design and Materials

The Samsung Galaxy A32 and A52 both feature refined design elements and modern materials. The A32 is constructed from plastic and has a screen size of 6.40 inches, with a resolution of 1080x2400 (FHD+). Its refresh rate is 90 Hz and its usable surface is 84.1%. The A52 has a larger screen size of 6.50 inches and a resolution of 1080x2400 (FHD+) too; its refresh rate is also 90 Hz. What makes it stand out though is that it has a Super AMOLED, with Max brightness HBM - 800 cd/m². Its frame is made from aluminium and plastic and its usable surface is 84.5%. With both models, sound is delivered through AKG stereo speakers, amplifying Dolby Atmos and Dolby Digital Plus audio.

Hardware

The Samsung Galaxy A32 is powered by the MediaTek Helio G80 (MT6769T) (12nm) CPU while the A52 is driven by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G (8nm) CPU. RAM is available in variants of 4GB, 6GB and 8GB (for the A32), while the A52 only offers 4GB, 6GB and 8GB. Both offer options of 64GB and 128GB internal storage (with A52 also pushing up to 256GB UFS storage 2.1) and can be expanded with an external MicroSD card. Both models have an AnTuTu benchmark score (V8 & V9 respectively) of 200458 and 341212 respectively.

Camera

Both the Samsung Galaxy A32 and A52 feature four rear cameras. On the A32, these include a standard camera (64.2 Mpx, f/1.8, CMOS), a wide angle lens (8.0Mpx, f/2.2), a portrait mode (depth) (5.0Mpx, f/2.4) and a macro lens (5.0Mpx, f/2.4). On the A52, there is a standard camera (Sony IMX682 Exmor RS, 64.0Mpx, f/1.8, Pixel size 0.800, CMOS), a wide angle lens (12.0Mpx, f/2.2, Pixel size 1.120), a macro lens (5.0Mpx, f/2.4, Pixel size 1.120) and a portrait mode (depth) (5.0Mpx, f/2.4, Pixel size 1.120). On the selfie front, both models boast impressive specs with the A32 having a 20.0Mpx, f/2.2 camera and the A52 having a Sony IMX616, 32.0Mpx, f/2.2, Pixel size 0.800, CMOS camera. Both offer optical stabilization (OIS), 4K video and ultra-wide angle 123º and the A52 has the added bonus of a 10x digital zoom.

Connectivity and Battery

The Samsung Galaxy A32 and A52 both offer Dual SIM, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC and audio jack. As far as battery life goes, the A32 boasts a 5000mAh capacity while the A52 has 4500mAh. Both support fast charging but the A32 has a 25.0W fast charge system compared to the A52’s 65.0W fast charging.

Overall, both the Samsung Galaxy A32 and A52 have a lot to offer when it comes to mid-range technology.
