Xiaomi, a Chinese electronics company, is one of the most renowned names in the world of smartphones. Recently, it announced two new phones: the Xiaomi 11T Pro and the Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G. Both phones come with a number of features, but there are crucial differences between them.

In terms of design and materials, the Xiaomi 11T Pro has an aluminium alloy frame and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus on the back. It has a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1080x2400 (FHD+), a 120 Hz refresh rate, an HBM 800 cd/m² max brightness, and a 5000000:1 contrast ratio. For audio, it has stereo speakers, Hi-Res audio, Dolby Atmos and Harmon Kardon tuned speakers. The usable surface of the phone is 84.7%.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G has a slightly different design. It has a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1080x2400 (FHD+), a 120 Hz refresh rate, a 500 cd/m2 (typ) brightness, and a 5000000:1 contrast ratio. It has stereo speakers, Hi-Res audio, and Dolby Atmos. The phone uses glass for its back and has a usable surface of 86.3%.

The hardware of the two phones also varies. The Xiaomi 11T Pro has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 (5nm) processor, 8GB or 12GB of RAM with LPDDR5 technology, 128GB or 256GB of UFS Storage 3.1 and 759000 points on AnTuTu v9. It also comes with a Fingerprint side security feature and a cooling system.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G has a MediaTek Dimensity 1080 (MT6877V) (6nm) processor, 8GB or 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM, 128GB or 256GB of UFS Storage 2.2 and 538000 points on AnTuTu v9. It comes with a Fingerprint side security feature, a multi-dimensional heat dissipation system, 3000mm² VC heat sink, graphene phase change heat sink and a high thermal conductivity aluminium alloy centre frame.

As for their cameras, the Xiaomi 11T Pro has a triple camera set-up with a Samsung S5KHM2 108.0Mpx camera with a f/1.75 aperture and a 0.700 pixel size; a Sony IMX355 8.0Mpx wide angle lens with a f/2.2 aperture; a Samsung S5K5E9 5.0Mpx macro lens with a f/2.4 aperture; and a Omnivision OV16A10 16.0Mpx selfie camera with a f/2.45 aperture. For video, it can record up to 4K and 8K video on HDR10+.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G has a triple camera set-up with a Samsung ISOCELL HPX 200.0Mpx camera with a f/1.65 aperture and a ISOCELL sensor; a Sony IMX355 8.0Mpx camera with a f/2.2 aperture; and a GalaxyCore GC02M1 2.0Mpx macro lens with a f/2.4 aperture. It also has optical stabilization (OIS) for video recording, 4K video recording, 7P lens, and an ultra-wide angle 119º.

For connectivity, the Xiaomi 11T Pro has Bluetooth 5.2, dual SIM, NFC, WiFi 6 (802.11ax), GPS (L1+L5) and Infrared. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G, on the other hand, has Bluetooth 5.2, dual SIM, NFC, Audio Jack, WiFi 6 (802.11ax) and Infrared.

Both phones have a battery capacity of 5000mAh and a fast charge of 120.0W.

The Xiaomi 11T Pro was released in September 2021 and is a high-end phone, while the Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G was released in October 2022 and falls under the mid-range category. Both phones come with exciting features and are great choices, depending on your preferences and budget.
