Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro vs Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro 4G: Comparison

The Xiaomi brand has been around for quite some time now and they have produced some great mid-range smartphones that offer a lot of features without having to break the bank. The latest two offerings from Xiaomi are the Redmi Note 10 Pro and the Redmi Note 12 Pro 4G, both of which are mid-range devices and they offer impressive specs and features at very competitive prices. We'll take a look at both smartphones and see how they stack up against each other.

Design & Materials

When it comes to design, both the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro and the Redmi Note 12 Pro 4G feature a glass chassis and offer the same level of protection thanks to Corning Gorilla Glass 5. Both also feature a P2i nano coating to repel water and dust. In terms of size, the Note 10 Pro has a 6.67-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080x2400 (FHD+) and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The Note 12 Pro 4G features a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with the same resolution and refresh rate. Both phones have a peak brightness of 1200 cd/m² and a 4500000:1 contrast ratio and support HDR10.

Hardware

Powering the Note 10 Pro is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 732G (8nm) processor with 6GB or 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 64GB, 128GB or 256GB of UFS storage. On the other hand, the Note 12 Pro 4G packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 732G (8nm) processor with 8GB or 6GB of RAM and 256GB or 128GB of UFS storage. Both phones also have an AnTuTu (v9) score of 336250. And, they both have a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and a Z-Axis linear motor for added haptics.

Camera

In terms of photography, both phones feature a quad-camera setup on the back. The Note 10 Pro features a 108MP Samsung S5KHM2 primary sensor, an 8MP Sony IMX355 ultra-wide-angle lens, a 2MP GalaxyCore GC02M1 depth sensor and a 5MP Omnivision OV5675 macro lens. The Note 12 Pro 4G has the same camera setup. They also sport a 16MP Sony IMX471 Exmor RS front-facing camera with pixel size 1.00um. Both phones can record 4K videos and have an ultra-wide-angle lens of 118° and a 6P lens.

Connectivity

In terms of connectivity, both phones have Bluetooth 5.1, dual SIM, NFC, Audio Jack and an Infrared port. The Note 10 Pro has Wi-Fi ac and a USB Type-C port while the Note 12 Pro 4G has Wi-Fi 6 and USB Type-C 3.2 for faster data transfer.

Battery

Both phones come equipped with a 5020mAh battery that supports fast charging. The Note 10 Pro has a 33W fast charging while the Note 12 Pro 4G has a 67W fast charging. They also support reverse charging so you can use your phone to charge other devices.

Verdict

Overall, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro and the Redmi Note 12 Pro 4G have much in common in terms of design, hardware, camera and connectivity. Where these two phones differ is in the battery and fast charging, with the Note 12 Pro 4G having a much faster charging speed. Both phones offer great value for money and if you’re looking for a great mid-range smartphone, either of these two will do you well.
