Xiaomi’s Redmi Note range is set to welcome two new mid-range models in July 2026: the Xiaomi Redmi Note 17 and the Xiaomi Redmi Note 17 Pro. Both aim to offer generous displays, high-capacity batteries and modern everyday connectivity, though the Pro model adds a more premium design, stronger performance and improved camera flexibility.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 17 features a large 7.00-inch OLED display with a 1080 x 2396 FHD+ resolution and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. Its peak brightness reaches 1,800 cd/m², while the claimed 5,000,000:1 contrast ratio should help provide deep blacks and vivid colours. Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protects the front, and the usable screen surface is listed at 87.8%, giving it a spacious appearance despite its likely budget-conscious construction. The handset uses plastic materials and includes stereo speakers for more immersive video, gaming and music playback.

Power comes from Qualcomm’s 4nm Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 processor, paired with either 6GB or 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM. Storage options include 128GB and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage, with a MicroSD card slot available for those who need extra space. An AnTuTu v11 score of 570,353 suggests capable everyday performance for social media, streaming, multitasking and moderate gaming. Security is handled through an in-display fingerprint sensor.

Photography on the standard Redmi Note 17 is centred around a 50-megapixel main ISOCELL camera with an f/1.8 aperture. It is supported by a 2-megapixel depth sensor intended for portrait effects. At the front, there is an 8-megapixel OmniVision OV08F selfie camera with an f/2.5 aperture. Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 is used for enhanced protection, while the screen-to-body figure rises to 91.2%. The phone combines faux leather and polycarbonate materials, giving it a more distinctive and potentially more premium feel than the standard model.

Its Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset is also built on a 4nm process and is paired with 6GB, 8GB or 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM. Storage ranges from 128GB to 512GB, using either UFS 2.2 or faster UFS 3.1 technology depending on the variant. With an AnTuTu v10 result of 678,000 and an integrated cooling system, the Pro should be noticeably better suited to demanding games and heavier multitasking. It uses a side-mounted fingerprint reader.

The Pro’s camera system includes a 50-megapixel Samsung S5KJN5 main camera with optical image stabilisation, plus an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera. A 16-megapixel front camera offers a clear upgrade for selfies and video calls. Stereo speakers, Hi-Res Audio and Dolby Atmos further strengthen its entertainment credentials. Finally, its 8,340mAh battery supports quicker 67W charging, as well as reverse charging. NFC, eSIM, Bluetooth 5.1, dual SIM and L1+L5 GPS complete a notably well-equipped package.
