  • Good looking phone, but it overheats constantly, what kills battery, and freezes app a lot.

Phone is good looking. Very nice display. Makes good pictures, but it constantly overheats even when only 2 apps are on. Frame gets extremly hot. Sometimes the apps freeze. Battery don't even last a day.
Two software probles for me are:
-you cannot clone the apps, so if you want a dual sim phone on which you are going to use Whatsapp for both sim cards/numbers, it's bettter to choose other phone. (On Pixel 7a you can use WhatsApp for Business, and normal Whatsapp. It works, but is far, far less convinient than just cloning the app like on any other Android phone)
-you can't turn on flashlight by clicking twice side button or by shaking the phone (you have to unlock the phone and then you can make other gesture) - not convinient.

    Pros
    • good looking
    • nice dislay
    • good camera
    Cons
    • battery
    • overheating
    • can not clone whatsapp for dual sim

  • Absolutely happy

I have changed from Xiaomi to Pixel. I had two Xiaomis and always some repairs going on. I found the Pixie 7a as a very robust device, with a superb camera. The connectivity is great, the receiption strong, and the speakers make fun to watch also "hear" sound. I am positively surprised. The battery lasts for a good day. The charging could be faster though.

    Pros
    • The technical stuff

    • Robust
    • Latest Android with Security Updates for 5y
    • Top camera
    • Good speakers
    Cons
    • Scope of delivery (only cable but no cover and plug)
    • Battery could last bit longer and charge faster
    • Could be IP68 instead IP67

Very good phone, the small defects have disappeared

In terms of screen quality, photo and performance, this is more than enough for me. On the battery side, for reasonable use, the phone lasts 2 days without problem (3 hours of daily use: social networks, emails, messages, photos). On the gaming side, the battery drains more or less quickly depending on the game in question, but this is not surprising after several hours. No heating problem as indicated by others, probably corrected since the latest updates (Android 14 among others). The Google OS is really great, full of practical and well-thought-out things and top-notch customization that allows you to make the phone your own. The only problem I have is with the fingerprint reader, because I added a protective glass. Even by activating the specific option on the phone which compensates for this problem, sometimes my fingerprint is not detected. Afterwards I use facial recognition, so the fingerprint is only used for banking or payment apps. I think it's better to use it without protection, I'll try without it when mine is broken.

    Disaster

Hmm, I'm not going to be nice to this device, even though I've been dreaming of the Nexus and Pixel for 10 years without ever taking the plunge of purchasing it... And I won't be caught. Purchased in May 2023, destroyed at the end of September 2023... So avoid, but I will give my objective opinion: What is good: (at first glance) - The 90 Hz Oled screen - The SOC effective on a daily basis - IP 67 certification and update policy - The compact format - The camera which gives magnificent results (this is indisputable at the moment) - A device and an Android operating system which work in synergy because developed by Google (that's what I thought), and therefore a coherent whole like Apple's iPhones. Let's move on to the bad (and also what I experienced with this device): - Numerous bugs on multiple apps with screen freezes for no reason - Disastrous updates in terms of installation time or even effects produced (new bugs) - Ridiculous autonomy (half a day) and snail's recharge (2 to 3 hours like 10 years ago) linked among other things to non-existent heat dissipation (architecture of Pixel 7 but restricted to be less expensive on the 7a) with a device that heats up without doing anything, even in standby and obligation to buy the Google charging block to hope to have the promised 18 W in charge. - Screen only 90 Hz and not very bright outdoors...and... Let's talk about the screen! This screen actually committed suicide itself: on a small shock (protected screen I specify), an area of 3 mm no longer worked (damaged pixels). And from there, the screen was destroyed in the space of a day, gradually until it no longer displayed anything anywhere (it started from the damaged area). In summary: Google smartphones are over for me. Never again, and never again will I trust online testing sites. I bought another brand instead (and it's night and day).

    Good pixel A

Remarkable in its cameras and its software, the battery does give me its day, but it is not enough, very fluid with its 90hz compared to the previous A series, so far no problem with heating the device, being my first pixel, I have was more than satisfied.

Good phone, fast with its G2 processor, in normal use empty battery at 9 p.m.

The phone drains quickly and unfortunately with its 18w charge it takes about 2 hours for a full charge, the joke is the wireless charge has 7.5 w which during use with Android Auto discharges it instead of the other way around

What is a Ki score?
Ki is an automatic score based on the specifications and prices of devices. It is calculated using over 200 variables to rank smartphones, tablets and other devices from best to worst.
How do we calculate the Ki?

In this case, to determine the score we evaluate 5 general aspects:

  • Design and screen
  • Hardware and performance
  • Camera
  • Connectivity
  • Battery

Once these 5 factors have been rated, we introduce the price variable. This means that any two devices with the same ratings get a different Ki score for quality vs price.

Even a device objectively worse than another may have a higher Ki score if it has a better price.

Does the Ki score change?

The Ki varies as time goes by. As new devices with better specifications enter the market the Ki score of older devices will go down, always being compensated of their decrease in price.
