- Poor quality control
I wanted to like this phone and there's much to admire about it.
The showstopper is the screen: they designed it without grounding it properly, so it shorts out occasionally and creates a hazy green screen. That's a no go.
Otherwise it's a decent phone: pretty good processing power (mostly, see below), good battery, excellent sound, good reception (5G/4G/Wi-Fi). The cameras are pretty good as well. The phone stays mostly cool.
Certain apps don't work well with the Pixel 8, unfortunately. A few games and apps stutter badly, possibly because of the Tensor chip.
For me, this phone has been disappointing, in spite of many good things about it.Pros- Bright screen

This is my third Pixel, and I don't think I'll ever go back to another brand of phone. I had the 3a and 5 before, but with this 8, I finally felt what it's like to have a phone without any weaknesses. The only downside is the battery, but I knew it wouldn't bother me since I have access to a power outlet almost all day. The camera has blown me away, as you'd expect from a Pixel, and the operating system is simply the best... in short, it's perfect. One of the last great little flagships, I love it.

Even though I bought it with a stripe on the display, it leaves a good impression, thanks to its compact body, sound, vibration, cameras, and battery life. It doesn't get hot, as most users report. The battery easily lasts 7 hours SOT at 120Hz. I strongly recommend disabling the enhanced HDR brightness feature, as it reduces battery life (4 hours SOT) and is useless except in bright sunlight.

Score
- 7.3 Design & Materials
- 7.4 Performance & Hardware
- 8.0 Camera
- 8.2 Connectivity
- 5.8 Battery
In this case, to determine the score we evaluate 5 general aspects:
- Design and screen
- Hardware and performance
- Camera
- Connectivity
- Battery
Once these 5 factors have been rated, we introduce the price variable. This means that any two devices with the same ratings get a different Ki score for quality vs price.
Even a device objectively worse than another may have a higher Ki score if it has a better price.
The Ki varies as time goes by. As new devices with better specifications enter the market the Ki score of older devices will go down, always being compensated of their decrease in price.
