- Best phone I ever owned
Not much to review besides the pros x cons already listed.
I went from Galaxy S6 (2016) to Galaxy S8 (2018) to Galaxy S20 (2020) to OnePlus 8T (2021). The OP8T was the first phone that made me feel like I had something worth keeping.
- I paid £360. For a phone with flagship specs. When the other brands were charging around £900 and delivering a worse product.
- OxygenOS is amazing! Clean, great UX. With other brands, there's always a lot of terrible decisions that make me think they hire the most incompetent product managers they can find. With OxygenOS, everything just made sense (not sure about the newest updates, since the OP8T stopped receiving updates a long time ago).
- The battery lasted 2-3 days when I bought it, and after 4.5 years the battery was still lasting 1-1.5 days (AccuBattery reports 82% battery health).
The only thing that made me finally replace the OP8T were the infamous green lines that started appearing on the screen.Pros- Amazing battery life and longevity
- Flagship performance
- Mid-range price
- Ergonomic form factor
- OxygenOS
Cons- Camera is good but not flagship level
- Green lines after 4+ years

View answers - A very smooth smartphone but outdated after 4 years
The phone is still very fluid and works very well without bugs. The performances are really there. On the other hand, the photography is really not great (even ugly), and the update policy is shit. After 4 years, no more updates are made, not even security. As a result, the phone tends to heat up a lot easily, and the battery no longer lasts at all. I even replaced the battery because the phone only lasted half a day maximum, and that didn't really help things because there is too much loss: I now only last a little more than half a day, and not even a day if I am economical. In short, Oneplus apparently offers very good value for money, but for the short term only, that is to say 4 years maximum.

View answers - One of the best phone that I had
Overall a very good phone even now in 2023. I use it everyday for gaming and social media and it holds pretty well and in normal usage it can hold a full day. The camera is not the best for that year but is pretty good if you're not into photography.

Score
- 6.9 Design & Materials
- 7.0 Performance & Hardware
- 7.4 Camera
- 7.9 Connectivity
- 5.5 Battery
In this case, to determine the score we evaluate 5 general aspects:
- Design and screen
- Hardware and performance
- Camera
- Connectivity
- Battery
Once these 5 factors have been rated, we introduce the price variable. This means that any two devices with the same ratings get a different Ki score for quality vs price.
Even a device objectively worse than another may have a higher Ki score if it has a better price.
The Ki varies as time goes by. As new devices with better specifications enter the market the Ki score of older devices will go down, always being compensated of their decrease in price.
