  • Incredible value for money

Great performance from the Helio P60 chip. Plenty of RAM, and with Mediatek's DuraSpeed (in Settings) even more performance can be brought forward by limiting unnecessary background apps. The rear camera, until recent update, was mediocre - however with the new camera app in the last update, camera performance is impressive. Even in low light, the camera manages some good exposure and colours. Speaker is loud and clear, perhaps a little on the harsh side at full volume but no complaints overall. Dual SIM works great, cell coverage is as expected and good LTE throughput. WiFi on 2.4G... BAD berformance with high latency (laggy) but 5G works perfectly.

    Pros
    • Camera is great with latest update & camera app
    • Surprisingly good screen, bright & good colours
    • True battery champ, can last two days!
    • Dual SIM + Dual 4G/LTE works great
    • Bluetooth, WiFi and cell coverage are flawless
    • Good design, comfortable to hold and use
    Cons
    • 2.4GHz WiFi performance laggy (high latency)

  • The BEST budget phone EVER!

I'm a product manager of smartphone, Umidigi F1 PLay is the best budget phone (less than 200 euro) that I ever had.
Fast performance (I don't play games, but I do coding and edit documents on this phone), good photo quality, amazing battery life (more than 2 days for normal usage), very clean and original Android Pie (this is very rare today), great community support with all transparency to root the phone (Magisk). It's better than Redmi Note 7, because it covers all European 4G & 3G bands. It can totally be an alternative to the big marks' (Samsung / HuaWei..) 400 euro models.
Besides, at this price, it's even sold with a protective case and a tempered glass already mounted, who can ask more?

    Pros
    • Fast performance
    • Good photo quality
    • Amazing battery life (2 days or even more)
    • Clean and original Android Pie
    • Great community support, can be Rooted
    • Cover all European 3G 4G bands
    Cons

  • Amazing battery but RAM management issues

Had this for 4 weeks now. It's a very nice device.

The battery is brilliant, and I can often go 3 or 4 days between charges. 8+ hours screen on time not uncommon.

The killer issue is a memory leak which means that after a while most if not all apps in the "Recents" reload from scratch instead of instantly resuming. It's as if the phone has only 2GB instead of 6GB and almost makes it unusable.

I say almost as the fix is to reboot regularly, as this refreshes everything and it works as expected for a while.

The rest is fine, screen clear (with some light bleed at the bottom), voice calls can be heard ok.

There have been 3 updates in as many weeks, though none have fixed the showstopper RAM issue - mainly camera tweaks etc.

Camera is fine, really good in low light.

Overall - that positive of that Amazon battery that will never die even with the heaviest use during a day outweighs the RAM issue. If they fix the latter it'll be near perfect for the money.

  • Great specs, brilliant value. Happy customer!

Very happy with this purchase. Was looking for a new phone and this ticked all the specs that I was looking for: good battery, screen, camera, contactless payment etc. Researched for a long time and the umidigi f1 play topped my list.

    Delighted with the phone overall.

A decent mobile for daily use

It's a good phone, I bought it almost 4 years ago and it still works, except for these last few months when the battery started to fail and inflate internally pushing the screen, but I can't ask for more, it did everything and it still kicks, it holds up almost 1 day to date, when it was launched it was one of the few brutal quality-price phones for what it offered, it is still fast today

    Pros
    • An excellent battery
    • Runs a very fluid system
    • It is fast compared to other phones of the time
    Cons
    • Its yellow flash is opaque and removes dark night photos.
    • the photos in general, the pixelation in the zoom is bad

Ki Cost-effective
Score
Not available
What is a Ki score?
Ki is an automatic score based on the specifications and prices of devices. It is calculated using over 200 variables to rank smartphones, tablets and other devices from best to worst.
How do we calculate the Ki?

In this case, to determine the score we evaluate 5 general aspects:

  • Design and screen
  • Hardware and performance
  • Camera
  • Connectivity
  • Battery

Once these 5 factors have been rated, we introduce the price variable. This means that any two devices with the same ratings get a different Ki score for quality vs price.

Even a device objectively worse than another may have a higher Ki score if it has a better price.

Does the Ki score change?

The Ki varies as time goes by. As new devices with better specifications enter the market the Ki score of older devices will go down, always being compensated of their decrease in price.
