- Incomplete phone, biggest disappointment of 2025
Vivo X200 Pro was announced as the best smartphone of 2025 on the market. All the YouTube tech reviewers have chosen this phone as the most comprehensive smartphone, placing it even above the iPhone 16 Pro Max, and I can see why they say this. I love the design of this phone – while the weight isn't impressive (the phone is on the heavier side), the weight is well-distributed and feels great in hand. The display is hard to describe – good in some aspects and lacking in others. With its default settings, it produces colours that are much colder and less vibrant than I would prefer, even after some calibration. The maximum brightness is outstanding, making it very readable in direct sunlight. Probably the best aspect of this phone is the battery life. It easily lasts 2 days with moderate use and 1 to 1.5 days with heavy use. The main camera module is impressive, especially for portrait photography. The performance of the other lenses varies. The zoom is significantly enhanced by AI, but the final image is often disappointing. The ultrawide lens falls short compared to similarly priced phones. The sound quality is poor – the speakers produce flat audio with no bass. The sound on headphones is slightly better but still noticeably quieter and worse than on other phones. It’s a terrible experience. The haptics are average, or even on the weaker side – you can barely feel anything. The software is dreadful and honestly a dealbreaker. OriginOS is very smooth and good at managing RAM, and that's about it. The UI is unattractive and not aesthetically pleasing at all. The fonts are inconsistent, and the UI elements vary in size – sometimes bigger, sometimes smaller – it simply doesn’t make sense. The system is not very customisable compared to other Android phones. Notifications arrive with a significant delay, or they don't arrive at all. And yes, I followed all the recommended steps to make them work. Don't be fooled – it's not the best smartphone of the year – far from it.

Score
- 8.3 Design & Materials
- 8.7 Performance & Hardware
- 8.9 Camera
- 8.7 Connectivity
- 8.0 Battery
In this case, to determine the score we evaluate 5 general aspects:
- Design and screen
- Hardware and performance
- Camera
- Connectivity
- Battery
Once these 5 factors have been rated, we introduce the price variable. This means that any two devices with the same ratings get a different Ki score for quality vs price.
Even a device objectively worse than another may have a higher Ki score if it has a better price.
The Ki varies as time goes by. As new devices with better specifications enter the market the Ki score of older devices will go down, always being compensated of their decrease in price.
