- Great phone for the price. Has some limitations
It is a very good buy, for the price it goes for it has cameras that don't have too much to envy from the flagship phones. It struggles a little with low light and the video it takes can be improved via software (custom rom), it's a shame that they don't give it the same (camera software) features some of the other Xiaomi phones have.
Battery is also amazing. The combination of the mid-range SD710 and 4000mah of capacity go great together. It can easily last a day or more with moderate use. The only time it struggles is with very heavy use (gaming) and full brightness (outside), but nevertheless it can hold and keep you company until you arrive home.
In addition, the 18W fast charging feels powerfull enough to get you out of a pinch, giving you a quick refill when needed
The screen is big and bright. Given it is an oled the color resolution is great and it has no issues when going outside to the sun.
Even though it has HDR support I wouldn't give it much credit, since when playing HDR content the screen seems to suffer in terms of color and brightness. It has support, but it's not well executed.
One thing to note is that the screen only has a 60hz refresh rate, and in an era where you will find phones with higher refresh rates it can be a little hard to give it a pass.
If I had to find some weak points I would have to talk about the combination of the processor and software. The SD710 is powerful enough. It can handle every day tasks effortlessly and most games at 60fps. However the sad thing is that Xiaomi has already forgotten about this phone. It will not recieve any new updates, and the updates it has recieved have not been thought with this processor in mind. You will see some stutter and lag from time to time. Also, they have removed the Widevine L1 support via software and it's not coming back.
Overall this is a great buy. If I had to give you a reason to pick this instead of a new phone at the same price it would be the camera.Pros- Camera

Score
- 7.0 Design & Materials
- 5.8 Performance & Hardware
- 6.9 Camera
- 6.8 Connectivity
- 5.3 Battery
In this case, to determine the score we evaluate 5 general aspects:
- Design and screen
- Hardware and performance
- Camera
- Connectivity
- Battery
Once these 5 factors have been rated, we introduce the price variable. This means that any two devices with the same ratings get a different Ki score for quality vs price.
Even a device objectively worse than another may have a higher Ki score if it has a better price.
The Ki varies as time goes by. As new devices with better specifications enter the market the Ki score of older devices will go down, always being compensated of their decrease in price.
