  Big screen with no big compromises.

  I waited for this phone for over a year. I wanted a budget-ness of Redmi series, a huge screen & battery, bluetooth 5 and European bands.
  Boy have I got everything I craved for! (not NFC, though)
  This big boy is more than enough for the next several years.
  
  I've got 6/128 variant (Chinese), and I had to flash the xiaomi.eu ROM for all the internet connection to work properly.
  Be wary if you're not technically apt, you may want to stick to the Global 4/64 version!
  What a beast it is!
  The 6GB RAM just never gets full.
  128GB ROM is more than I have installed in my laptop with a 120GB SSD! :)

  Covers 95% of my everyday needs

  I love that phone. It looks sexy.
  Battery is pretty strong.
  The mic is unusable for music recording, that's a huge shame for me as a musician.
  The camera is shitty in low light. Colors are way off.

  Good overall experience, a joy to use

  Camera is great, the size is ideal to use with one hand; This 4 year-old smartphone still has great performance and is butter smooth on the newest iOS, beating the new mid-range smartphones like Xiaomi redmi note 4.
  Also, the battery saving mode can save your ass.
  Great Podcast support and infrastructure.
