However, Cubot, a prominent player in the smartphone market, has once again delivered with their latest offering, the Cubot X50. Launched in April 2021, this mid-range smartphone is set to captivate tech enthusiasts with its exceptional features and competitive price point.

Design & Materials: The first thing that catches your eye when you lay your hands on the Cubot X50 is its sleek design and premium build quality. Sporting a large 6.67-inch LCD IPS screen with a resolution of 1080x2400 (FHD+), the display delivers vibrant colors and sharp visuals. Whether you're watching movies, playing games, or browsing through your social media feeds, the Cubot X50 ensures an immersive viewing experience.

Crafted with polycarbonate, the smartphone exhibits excellent sturdiness while maintaining a lightweight feel. The materials used lend the device a high-end appearance, making it an aesthetically pleasing choice for users who value both form and function. Furthermore, the Cubot X50 boasts an impressive usable surface of 87.4%, maximizing the screen-to-body ratio for an uninterrupted display.

Hardware: Under the hood, the Cubot X50 is powered by the MediaTek Helio P60 (MT6771) processor built on the 12nm architecture. This chipset delivers outstanding performance and energy efficiency, enabling smooth multitasking and effortless navigation across applications. Complementing the powerful processor is a generous 8GB of RAM, ensuring seamless performance even during resource-intensive tasks such as gaming and photo editing.

Storage capacity is not a concern with the Cubot X50, as it offers options of either 128GB or 256GB internal storage. Additionally, the device supports external storage through a microSD card slot, allowing users to expand their storage space and accommodate their growing multimedia library.

For those who prioritize speed and efficiency, the Cubot X50 boasts an impressive AnTuTu benchmark score of 181000. This puts it ahead of many competitors in the mid-range segment, ensuring a lag-free user experience.

Security is a top priority for smartphone users, and Cubot understands this concern. The Cubot X50 features a convenient side-mounted fingerprint sensor, allowing for quick and secure access to your device. This biometric authentication method adds an extra layer of protection, ensuring that your personal data remains safe and secure.

Camera: One of the standout features of the Cubot X50 is its impressive camera setup. Equipped with a quadruple camera system, it caters to the needs of photography enthusiasts and casual users alike. The primary camera houses the Samsung Bright S5KGW1 sensor, boasting a whopping 64.0-megapixel resolution, f/1.79 aperture, and a pixel size of 0.800. Thanks to the ISOCELL technology, the camera captures stunning details and vivid colors in every shot, ensuring professional-quality photographs.

In addition to the primary camera, the Cubot X50 also features a wide-angle lens with a 16.0-megapixel resolution. This lens allows for capturing a larger field of view, making it perfect for landscape shots or group photos. Furthermore, a dedicated color filter camera with a resolution of 0.3 megapixels adds a creative touch to your photographs, allowing for unique and artistic effects.

Macro photography enthusiasts will appreciate the inclusion of a 5.0-megapixel macro lens. This lens enables close-up shots with incredible detail and sharpness, bringing even the tiniest subjects to life. On the front, the Cubot X50 houses a 32.0-megapixel selfie camera, ensuring that your self-portraits are always on point.

Connectivity: The Cubot X50 offers seamless connectivity options to keep you connected wherever you go. Bluetooth 5.0 ensures fast and stable connections with compatible devices, allowing for wireless audio streaming or file transfer. Dual SIM capabilities enable users to manage their personal and professional contacts on a single device, eliminating the need for carrying two smartphones. Moreover, the inclusion of NFC functionality allows for convenient contactless payments, making transactions faster and more secure.

Battery: With a large 4500mAh battery capacity, the Cubot X50 ensures all-day usage without the need for frequent recharges. Whether you're browsing the internet, watching videos, or playing games, rest assured that your smartphone will keep up with your demands. Additionally, the device supports fast charging technology, with an 18.0W charger included in the box. This means that even if you find yourself running low on battery, a quick charge will get you back up and running in no time.

In conclusion, the Cubot X50 is a mid-range smartphone that ticks all the right boxes. With its sleek design, powerful hardware, impressive camera capabilities, and convenient connectivity options, it offers exceptional value for money. The only problem I had with the screen which, not even one year old, saw a corner of the gasket break. Bad!

This was my 6th cubot, I only buy this brand, why? I don't know, one day I saw the reviews and fell in love. Bought in 2022 in the spring, it's still my forklift mobile phone. Looking at it, it looks new except that in March a plastic part of the screen in the corner came off. Nothing dramatic, but for only being 11 months old, it annoyed me. Contacted the assistance the problem was not covered by the guarantee, too bad. Surely the use of too much plastic is not its strong point. For the way I use my cell phone today and my obsession with mid-range, the X50 is a wonderful phone. The screen is large and bright, which I consider a plus; the camera is standard with a lot of image saturation, it's not its strong point as well as video. The battery lasts, but the GPS doesn't convince me, the connectivity is excellent, while the bluetooth has never worked for me. I confirm my judgment in vote, I repeat I like cubot and always considering it my first choice.

This phone gets it right in practically every aspect that a user values. It does everything decently without being spectacular. Still, looking at the price, it's well worth it.

    What is a Ki score?
Ki is an automatic score based on the specifications and prices of devices. It is calculated using over 200 variables to rank smartphones, tablets and other devices from best to worst.
How do we calculate the Ki?

In this case, to determine the score we evaluate 5 general aspects:

    • Design and screen
    • Hardware and performance
    • Camera
    • Connectivity
    • Battery

Once these 5 factors have been rated, we introduce the price variable. This means that any two devices with the same ratings get a different Ki score for quality vs price.

Even a device objectively worse than another may have a higher Ki score if it has a better price.

    Does the Ki score change?

The Ki varies as time goes by. As new devices with better specifications enter the market the Ki score of older devices will go down, always being compensated of their decrease in price.
