Honor Magic5 Pro – A High-End Smartphone to Look Out For

Honor, a subsidiary of Huawei, has recently announced the upcoming release of their latest smartphone, the Honor Magic5 Pro. It's expected to be released sometime in February 2023 and is said to be the brand's most advanced and luxurious phone yet. Let's take a closer look at what the Magic5 Pro has to offer.

Design & Materials

At first glance, the Honor Magic5 Pro is an eye-catching device with its sleek finish and modern design. It also features a Dual Edge display for maximum viewing experience. The phone is constructed using metal for a durable and premium feel. With 90.6% usability surface, you can expect nothing less than an almost complete experience in terms of navigation and usage. For those looking for a plain leather version, the phone will weigh approximately 209 grams.

Hardware

The Honor Magic5 Pro packs some serious hardware power under its hood. It comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen2 (4nm) processor, up to 16GB of RAM (LPDDR5X), and up to 512GB of Storage (UFS 4.0). On AnTuTu test (v9), the phone scored an impressive 1003900. You'll also find a Fingerprint Display as part of the Honor Magic5 Pro's security system.

Camera

The phone features a Quadruple camera setup with an array of specs. The standard camera comes with a 50.0Mpx sensor and f/1.6 aperture, with a 1.400 pixel size and CMOS technology. Wide angle and macro shots are also supported through a 50.0Mpx and f/2.0 aperture lens. With the Telephoto + Portrait mode, you can capture photos using an f/3.0 aperture lens and 50.0Mpx. The third sensor (ToF 3D) can take 0.3Mpx shots, unknown aperture and unknown sensor size. Last, but not least, the Honor Magic5 Pro also has a 12.0Mpx selfie shooter with f/2.4 aperture and optical stabilization (OIS).

Connectivity & Battery

The Magic5 Pro offers a number of connectivity options, such as Bluetooth 5.2, Dual SIM slots, USB Host 3.0, NFC, WiFi 6 (802.11ax) and GPS. Furthermore, it is fitted with a hefty 5100mAh battery which supports fast charging and wireless charging.

Pros & Cons

As with any device, there are advantages and disadvantages to consider when purchasing a new smartphone. The Honor Magic5 Pro stands out with its long-lasting battery, high quality camera specs, impressive display resolution and dust and water resistance. On the other hand, the phone does not come with a Mini Jack and weighs a bit more than similar models available on the market, which could lead to discomfort after prolonged use. And, at the higher end of the spectrum, its price may be too high for some users.

Final Thoughts

All things considered, the Honor Magic5 Pro is sure to be a top contender in the high-end smartphone market in the coming years. With its advanced hardware and impressive design, this phone is sure to make waves when it is released in February 2023.

I must say that your purchase is a success, now I have the 6pro and really like every major manufacturer today, without much change, both are spectacular, even standing out more in some things, such as the sound, some photo scenes, the battery It lasts a long time, the operating system is clean and customizable, I recommend 100%

    SPECTACULAR

A genius on Honor's part. A very nice mobile phone and spectacular photo quality. The Zoomx100 is simply amazing. I come from a Oneplus 10 pro and although it is also a good mobile, this one beats it by a landslide, especially in cameras, a real marvel.

    The cover of the year

I have been using it for 3 months and I can only say that it is wonderful, the cameras are excellent, one of the best on the market without a doubt, both day and night, with a lot of detail and top portrait and close-ups, the performance is spectacular as the Gen.2 that it carries, only the 512+12 version is sold, which already makes it a spectacular option since to buy a Samsung or an iPhone like this you have to spend the money, the battery is the best in a high-end Android mobile high, tested in tests and the one that lasts the longest of all the high range, I have spent a whole weekend without charging it and you always get between 6-9 hours of screen time without problem depending on use, highlighting the facial unlock with dedicated 3D camera similar to the Face ID, the best on Android. The screen looks great with lots of brightness in full sun. The software is still young but it is very good and you receive 3 years of Android updates and 5 years of security. For me, it is undoubtedly the best quality-price phone of the year, and being a high-end phone makes it the best option without a doubt. The only negative thing is the ergonomics, which are quite large.

    What is a Ki score?
Ki is an automatic score based on the specifications and prices of devices. It is calculated using over 200 variables to rank smartphones, tablets and other devices from best to worst.
How do we calculate the Ki?

In this case, to determine the score we evaluate 5 general aspects:

    • Design and screen
    • Hardware and performance
    • Camera
    • Connectivity
    • Battery

Once these 5 factors have been rated, we introduce the price variable. This means that any two devices with the same ratings get a different Ki score for quality vs price.

Even a device objectively worse than another may have a higher Ki score if it has a better price.

    Does the Ki score change?

The Ki varies as time goes by. As new devices with better specifications enter the market the Ki score of older devices will go down, always being compensated of their decrease in price.
