- All-around mid-ranger with stereo sound, color accurate display, good camera, clean OxygenOS, capable SOC but expect compromises.
The design is ok except for the fingerprint-magnet plastic build. The LCD panel is on the dimmer side (450 nits vs. 670 nits on Apple Retina LCDs) but the refresh rate, contrast, and color accuracy are excellent - signifying a good display. Features like the 2-way speaker and headphone jack are a plus but the loss of the iconic OnePlus slider is a bummer. The main camera sensor is the new OmniVision OV64B which is an excellent hardware choice but the image post-processing needs some work, and the exclusion of an OIS module hurts the camera performance. Daylight shots are very good, low light is moderate, ultrawide and macro shots are below average. The overall experience is a true mid-level. I would've absolutely loved this if OnePlus guaranteed the true standard 2 OS + 3 yrs support instead of its current mediocre 1 OS + 2 yrs support. The phone is good for its price but OnePlus' attitude towards the Nord-series is concerning as it emulates the worst side of the Android experience.
Pros- Comfortable grip (doesn't feel cheap)
- Large color-accurate 90Hz LCD display
- Very good main and selfie cameras
- OxygenOS 10
- "Stereo" speaker and audio jack
- Snappy CPU performance
Cons- Glossy smudge-prone plastic build
- Middling brightness
- Dissapointing UW and macro cameras
- Mediocre Software Support
- Limited water resistance
- Pedestrian GPU and memory config

Good equipment, well balanced, decent LCD type screen at 90Hz, good cameras with 4K recording, solvent processor for most applications. It is not for gaming but it can run almost any type of game at HD graphics. The materials of the back cover are bad, it scratches very easily and they don't come off. The rear fingerprint sensor looks outdated. The battery barely lasts almost the day but it is compensated with a good fast charge.
