Realme, a brand known for offering affordable yet feature-packed smartphones, released the realme C21 in March 2021. This low-end smartphone is designed to cater to users looking for a budget-friendly device without compromising on essential features. Let's delve into the details of the realme C21 and see what it has to offer.
Design & Materials
The realme C21 sports a 6.50-inch LCD IPS screen with a resolution of 720x1600 (HD+). With a brightness of 400 cd/m² (typ) and a contrast ratio of 1500:1, the display delivers decent visuals for everyday use. The device is made of plastic, which may not be as premium as glass or metal but helps keep the cost down. Despite the material choice, the realme C21 manages to achieve an impressive usable surface area of 81.3%, providing a comfortable viewing experience for users.
Hardware
Under the hood, the realme C21 is powered by a Mediatek Helio G35 processor built on a 12nm process. The device comes with either 3GB or 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM, allowing for smooth multitasking. In terms of storage, users can choose between 32GB or 64GB of eMMC 5.1 storage, with the option to expand further using external storage. The realme C21 scores 110490 on AnTuTu (v8), reflecting its performance capabilities in the budget segment.
Camera
The realme C21 features a triple camera setup on the rear, comprising a 13.0-megapixel standard camera with an aperture of f/2.2 and a pixel size of 1.120μm. Additionally, there is a 2.0-megapixel black & white camera with an aperture of f/2.4 and a pixel size of 1.750μm, along with a 2.0-megapixel macro lens with similar specifications. For selfie enthusiasts, the device offers a 5.0-megapixel front camera with an aperture of f/2.2 and a pixel size of 1.120μm. While the camera setup may not deliver flagship-level results, it should suffice for casual photography needs.
Connectivity
In terms of connectivity, the realme C21 supports Bluetooth 5.0 and dual SIM functionality, allowing users to stay connected on the go. Additionally, the device retains the traditional audio jack, catering to users who prefer wired headphones or speakers for audio output.
Battery
One of the standout features of the realme C21 is its impressive 5000mAh battery capacity, ensuring long-lasting usage without the need for frequent recharging. The device supports 10.0W fast charging, although it may not be as speedy as higher-end models. Another useful feature is reverse charging, allowing users to use their device as a power bank to charge other devices in emergencies.
Summary
When weighing the pros and cons of the realme C21, several factors stand out. The device's battery capacity is undoubtedly a strong point, offering extended usage times for users who rely heavily on their smartphones throughout the day. The affordability of the realme C21 is another key advantage, making it an attractive option for budget-conscious consumers. The ability to expand storage using external options provides added flexibility for users who require more space for their files and media.
On the downside, the camera quality of the realme C21 may not meet the expectations of users who prioritize photography capabilities in their smartphones. Additionally, the absence of 5G connectivity may be a drawback for users looking for faster network speeds and future-proofing.
In conclusion, the realme C21 is a solid choice for users seeking a low-end smartphone with essential features at an affordable price point. While it may not offer top-of-the-line specifications, it fulfills the basic requirements of a smartphone effectively. With a reliable battery, expandable storage, and decent performance, the realme C21 is a practical option for those on a budget.

It's a good phone. It occasionally freezes, but nothing a restart can't fix. If you're not looking for anything special or need a great camera, it's a decent phone option. The battery drains more quickly over time, but it also charges very quickly if you use the charger that came in the box. It has a nice design and is very resistant to drops, scratches, and bumps, although I recommend putting a case on it to prevent breakage.
