Introducing the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro+, the latest in Xiaomi’s mid-range smartphone series. The Pro+ model offers a range of upgrades compared to its siblings, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro and Xiaomi Redmi Note 13, as Xiaomi continues to strive for excellence in all aspects of their devices.

Design & Materials

The first thing you notice immediately when picking up the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ is the craftsmanship that has gone into its design. It has a sleek and contemporary look, with its smooth, curved back made from Corning Gorilla Glass Victus, and its thin bezels measuring just 1.7mm. This ensures that the Pro+ has an impressive usable surface area of 89.2%.

The Pro+ also has a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1220×2712 (QHD), an extremely high refresh rate of 120 Hz and an impressive maximum brightness of 1200 cd/m², alongside a 5000000:1 contrast ratio that provides true-to-life visuals. What’s more, the display also features Dual Edge technology, making it look even more stylish. Alongside this, the speaker system was also upgraded to include stereo speakers for an improved audio experience.

Hardware

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro+ is equipped with the latest hardware, which includes the power-efficient MediaTek Dimensity 7200 (4nm) processor and exceptionally fast LPDDR5 RAM available in 12GB and 16GB configurations. Storage capacities are also very generous, offering UFS Storage 3.1 in either 256GB or 512GB versions. With this configuration, it’s no surprise that the Pro+ achieved an AnTuTu (v10) score of 803381.

For those concerned about security, the Pro+ has a Fingerprint Display that provides even greater protection against potential threats. Finally, the Pro+ is also equipped with a larger 4000mm² VC vapor chamber for better cooling efficiency.

Camera

The camera setup on the Pro+ is sure to impress, featuring a triple camera with a Samsung ISOCELL HP3 200.0Mpx standard lens with an f/1.65 aperture, a Sony IMX355 8.0Mpx wide-angle + macro lens with an f/2.2 aperture, and finally a Omnivision OV02B10 2.0Mpx portrait mode depth lens with an f/2.4 aperture. It also comes with a Omnivision OV16A1Q 16.0Mpx front camera for selfies. All these cameras have optical stabilization (OIS) and are capable of 4K video recording.

Connectivity

The Pro+ also features dual SIM, Bluetooth 5.3, WiFi 6 (802.11ax), and NFC, as well as an infrared port. This ensures that the device is always connected and can easily transfer data between different devices.

Battery

The Pro+ also comes with a large battery capacity of 5000mAh which can be charged very quickly thanks to its 120.0W fast charge capability. So you can be sure that you will get plenty of usage out of your device without having to worry about running out of power.

Conclusion

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro+ is a great mid-range device that offers an amazing set of features and specifications. With its sleek design, powerful hardware, triple camera setup that can record 4K videos, and its large battery capacity and fast charging capabilities, the Pro+ is sure to please users.

  • Good phone, but watch the battery (and no headphone jack)

    • Pros:

    - Performance: Very snappy. Runs games like Standoff 2 at stable 120fps.

    - Screen & Audio: Great display (curved screen grows on you, tho it can be a Pro or a Con depending on you) and amazing speakers.

    - Charging: 120W charging is a lifesaver because you'll need it.

    - Main Camera: Really solid photos.

    • Cons:

    - Battery: Disappointing for heavy users; rarely lasts a full day.

    - Missing Features: No 3.5mm headphone jack (the standard Pro has it).

    - Fingerprint Sensor: The light it emits is annoying at night; screen protectors can mess with it.

    - Extras: Haptics and secondary cameras are just "meh."

•• Verdict: Only buy it if you find a cheap deal. Otherwise, the standard Note 13 Pro offers better value, it has a headphone jack and I personally preferred its camera.

What is a Ki score?
Ki is an automatic score based on the specifications and prices of devices. It is calculated using over 200 variables to rank smartphones, tablets and other devices from best to worst.
How do we calculate the Ki?

In this case, to determine the score we evaluate 5 general aspects:

  • Design and screen
  • Hardware and performance
  • Camera
  • Connectivity
  • Battery

Once these 5 factors have been rated, we introduce the price variable. This means that any two devices with the same ratings get a different Ki score for quality vs price.

Even a device objectively worse than another may have a higher Ki score if it has a better price.

Does the Ki score change?

The Ki varies as time goes by. As new devices with better specifications enter the market the Ki score of older devices will go down, always being compensated of their decrease in price.
