About this comparison

A Look at Samsung's Latest Mid-Range 5G Smartphones: The Galaxy A52s and A54

Samsung continues to dominate the mobile phone market with its latest mid-range offerings. The Galaxy A52s and A54 are two 5G smartphones from the company, designed for the mid-range market. Both phones offer the same mid-range specs but differ in several ways. Let's take a closer look at the two phones and see which one is right for you.

Design & Materials

The Galaxy A52s and A54 share the same design philosophy. They feature a plastic back panel with a metal frame to give users a durable and lightweight body. The glass front of the phone is protected by Gorilla Glass 5 against scratches and drops. The A52s has a large 6.50-inch display with an FHD+ resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate, while the A54 has a slightly smaller 6.40-inch display but with a Super AMOLED panel and higher brightness levels. Though the A54 has less usable screen space than the A52s (82.4% vs 84.5%), it does have more immersive visuals thanks to the AMOLED panel.

Hardware

Both phones are powered by Snapdragon 778G processors and come with 6GB/8GB of RAM, depending on the model. Storage is also available in two variants-128GB/256GB. Both phones come with an expansion option for increased storage via a MicroSD card slot. The A52s runs on the AnTuTu v9 benchmark with a score of 547000, while the A54 runs on the Exynos 1380 chip and scores 507000 on the same test. In terms of security, both phones come with a fingerprint display.

Camera

The Galaxy A52s has a quad-camera setup with a 64MP main camera, 12MP wide-angle lens, 5MP portrait mode lens, and 5MP macro lens. It also has optical stabilization (OIS) to help reduce shake and blur in photos. The A54 has a triple-camera setup with a 50MP main camera, 13MP wide-angle lens, and 5MP macro lens. The selfie camera on both devices is a 32MP unit with f/2.0 aperture.

Connectivity & Battery

In terms of connectivity, the Galaxy A52s comes with a Bluetooth 5.0, Dual SIM support, NFC, audio jack, and WiFi 6 (802.11ax). The A54 adds additional features like Bluetooth 5.3, eSIM, and more. Battery capacity is 4500mAh for the A52s and 5000mAh for the A54, with support for 25W fast charging.

Conclusion

When it comes to mid-range 5G phones, the Samsung Galaxy A52s and A54 are both excellent options. The A52s has a larger display and slightly better hardware, while the A54 has a better camera and more advanced connectivity features. Depending on your needs, either device can make a great choice.
