  • The perfect phone

The perfect phone if you want big battery, great photos, great screen and a chipset that will be fast for years to come.
The battery is really difficult to drain, can easily last more than a day as a tourist using maps with navigation, taking photos, and browsing all day under the sun. Charges very fast, 10-min charge can get half the day or more.
Photos are the best, very natural and extreme detail. It has OIS, very steady. At night, camera is fantastic, bright and clear. Tele camera is not on that level but definitely good.
Selfies are okay in good conditions, but if you have too much or too little light, or lights right behind you, it becomes very soft and has artifacts. But that is expected because you enjoy a massive uninterrupted screen. Video calls are fine.
Screen is beautiful, nice colors, very bright, and UDC is so good. Very nice Auto Brightness, even uses sensors on the back, for when you have a light facing you.
Chipset is a beast, of course is the fastest at the moment.
Materials feel extremely premium, aluminum, glass, and a marble feel at the back. It is on the heavier side. It gets a little hot when under extreme loads, or charging.
Fingerprint sensor is lightning fast and very accurate, it has maybe missed one time in a month of use, even wet hands.
Camera is big and makes the phone unstable on the table, even with case.
Updates are coming very usually - maybe even every week.

  • unique phone with more shortcomings of older nubia, fixed

the upgrades over previous z70 ultra are :
1- added wireless charger and a higher battery capacity.
2- return of large sensor for ultrawide although no OIS unlike z60 ultra , also AI photo assistant plus realtime-color change in camera UI
3- much better cooling because of liquid thermal use , same as redmagic or some laptop and much better power or thermal management for SOC as well
4- newer flagship SOC & storage
5- better UDC selfie quality and better EIS front video vs z70u
6- 5 Microphones instead of only 2 used in z70 ultra
7- thinner and more comfortable in hand experience compared to previous generations by curves introduced this time.
8- better & brighter display screen
9- Ultrasonic fingerprint sensor with much faster unlock compared to previous one although placed higher in screen.
10- better speaker or audio output
all of these for around 500RMB or 70$ more in price compared to last generation.

    Pros
    • no hole, full screen, gorgeous uninterrupted display
    • 35mm main camera & big sensor used in ultrawide
    • different design than everything else
    • big battery & great battery life
    • dedicated 2-steps shutter button
    • cleaner bloatfree OS compared to chinese brands

The seamless, hole-free screen is worth every penny.

I got it for 46,000 rubles in the 16/512 version. Competitors couldn't even come close, especially when it came to the screen. Besides, it's a very beautiful device, in my opinion, with a design unlike anything else on the market. I immediately liked the "toggle" switch where I attached the "flashlight"—very convenient, but with that came the realization of what I consider to be two serious drawbacks: while the selfie quality is justified by the excellent screen, the flash brightness is simply understated. This LED ring works well for photos, but it's the weakest flash of all the phones I've owned. I have a burner nearby, the Tecno Pova 5, and its flash is three times more powerful, in my personal opinion. And that's nice when you need to do something in the dark. Otherwise, there's only one caveat for those considering using it for gaming: even if you think it's perfect for a gamepad, double-check—the protruding ring can get in the way. There were no issues with performance; it's practically pure Android with a flagship chip and 16GB of RAM, so there shouldn't be any lag. The main cameras are simply excellent; anyone who says they're not great simply wasn't using manual mode. And the ability to record 4K 120p video is simply amazing. I almost never let the phone out of my hands. And it lasts all day in this mode, thanks to the engineers for the new capacious batteries. If anyone's looking for a phone in 2026/2027, you won't find a better one for this price, the only exception being if you need good selfies. In short, this is a tactilely pleasing flagship, with good fast charging, both wired and wireless. It's perfect for anyone who wants something a little different and is tired of punch-hole displays.

    Amazing value for money

I bought it on sale and was torn between this Nubia Z80 Ultra and the Poco F8 Ultra, which was about €50 more, and I opted for this one. Now that I have it, I've been able to compare it with the Poco F8 Ultra and I'm happy I bought it. In terms of performance, there's nothing to complain about: Antutu scores 3,920,000 points, everything is incredibly smooth at 144Hz. The hole-punch display is a real treat; it looks fantastic and has perfect calibration for photography (no color oversaturation). It's a pleasure to take a photo and see the colors on screen exactly as they are in real life. 16GB of RAM and 512GB of ultra-fast storage are more than enough. The rear cameras are excellent, on par with a €600 smartphone, but the front camera suffers from being under the screen, and although decent, it doesn't quite measure up to the rear cameras. It's not the best phone for photography, but it takes spectacular photos. The battery life is absolutely insane; it's the first smartphone that lasts me two days even with heavy use, thanks to its 7000+ mAh battery. It weighs over 200 grams, but contrary to what you might read in reviews, it doesn't suffer from throttling while gaming; it runs quite cool.

Impressive, in terms of performance, battery life, and the special edition is BEAUTIFUL.

I traded this NUBIA Z80 Ultra for a two-year-old Samsung S24 Ultra, phone for phone. I was already familiar with the brand, as you've seen the Z70 Ultra too. But this version is gorgeous and very exclusive, a blue version with some tweaks.

    Fine

Pros: large frameless screen with no notches, a large battery that lasts for a day and a half, decent sound and vibration response, excellent performance for all games, the 144g Ultra phone gets hot, but not too much, and decent rear cameras.
Cons: It's too big for me, but on the other hand, it has a large screen without a notch. As expected, the selfie camera is crap, but it's better than a hole in the screen. There were a lot of updates at first, but then they stopped coming out. The shell is an acquired taste, and it keeps background apps in reserve well. Personally, I have bugs when the screen refresh rate is set to anything other than 90Hz; blacks turn gray, but at 90Hz, blacks are nice. Once, I turned off the phone and it froze on startup and refused to turn on, only getting very hot. A factory reset via recovery helped. Sometimes the internet drops out or disappears completely, or there are connection bars but no internet. The same thing with calls happens occasionally, but very rarely. Sometimes you forget how to fix it. It's a good phone, I really liked it, especially the screen and performance, but it's not for everyone. There are too many nuances, too many compromises. This phone is for enthusiasts. I don't recommend it to Apple users, they'll break your brain.

What is a Ki score?
Ki is an automatic score based on the specifications and prices of devices. It is calculated using over 200 variables to rank smartphones, tablets and other devices from best to worst.
How do we calculate the Ki?

In this case, to determine the score we evaluate 5 general aspects:

  • Design and screen
  • Hardware and performance
  • Camera
  • Connectivity
  • Battery

Once these 5 factors have been rated, we introduce the price variable. This means that any two devices with the same ratings get a different Ki score for quality vs price.

Even a device objectively worse than another may have a higher Ki score if it has a better price.

Does the Ki score change?

The Ki varies as time goes by. As new devices with better specifications enter the market the Ki score of older devices will go down, always being compensated of their decrease in price.
