    As always, OnePlus doesn't disappoint.

I had a OnePlus 6T back in the day, and it's the best phone I've ever owned. This is more of the same, although a bit bigger, which I don't particularly like, but I need a large battery since I'm out of the house for 12 hours a day. As for performance, I don't play games, but everything runs incredibly fast. I don't regret it at all; plus, I got it on Black Friday for under €400 with the 80W charger and the earbuds.

Its only weakness is the wide-angle lens.

Very nice design, especially the white version that simulates marble. However, after a typical drop from a height, one corner dented, so I consider it fragile and suggest using a case, which isn't included. Despite using a 2024 processor, multitasking performance is satisfactory; I can open several applications without any problems. Gemini provides quick responses, opening web pages and applications fast. I don't usually upload content to social media or create content with Capcut, so I don't know how it performs in those tasks. The phone gets warm while charging, despite the bypass, on sunny days, and when using GPS (Waze and Maps), but I haven't had a problem with basic games. I haven't tested it in long sessions with demanding games. Fast charging works very well, and I get back to 100% in less than an hour; however, I usually end the day with more than 40% remaining. The main camera is one of its strong points; the colors are slightly saturated, but photos taken in good light have very little noise and outstanding sharpness, with good dynamic range. Regarding close-up and macro photos, I obtained less detail when zooming in than with a less expensive phone with a smaller sensor (OnePlus Ace 5 Racing), perhaps due to the sensor or processor speed. The wide-angle lens is its weak point: significant noise in low light, slight distortion in the corners, and very little detail when zoomed in. The selfie camera is great; it has autofocus and performs very well even in low light.

The operating system comes fairly clean and provides the necessary updates to consider upgrading as technology advances. The only thing that's usually unnecessary and can't be uninstalled is its pre-installed browser. Connectivity is generally very good; I haven't had any major problems. The international version offers excellent compatibility with networks in Mexico. It does not include a wall charger.

What is a Ki score?
Ki is an automatic score based on the specifications and prices of devices. It is calculated using over 200 variables to rank smartphones, tablets and other devices from best to worst.
How do we calculate the Ki?

In this case, to determine the score we evaluate 5 general aspects:

  • Design and screen
  • Hardware and performance
  • Camera
  • Connectivity
  • Battery

Once these 5 factors have been rated, we introduce the price variable. This means that any two devices with the same ratings get a different Ki score for quality vs price.

Even a device objectively worse than another may have a higher Ki score if it has a better price.

Does the Ki score change?

The Ki varies as time goes by. As new devices with better specifications enter the market the Ki score of older devices will go down, always being compensated of their decrease in price.
