View answers - Purchased for the BOSE sound
I bought this phone mainly for the BOSE‑tuned speakers and the extra "subwoofer" and while online comparisons suggest a clear upgrade, the real‑world experience is more complicated. Out of the box with Dolby Atmos enabled, its default preset crushes the mids, leaving vocals muddy. Switching to the 'Voice' profile restores clarity and makes the phone genuinely enjoyable, but the Atmos dynamic EQ can suddenly pull back bass or soften bright tracks, which becomes irritating. The 'Balanced' profile (Atmos off) actually sounds lovely at low volumes, but once you pass around 50%, bass drops off and slow compression kicks in, forcing you back to use Atmos. Ultimately, it’s still a phone - any cheap Bluetooth speaker will outperform it - so expectations matter.
Performance is very close to my Redmi Turbo 4 with the Dimensity 8400 Ultra and 16GB RAM. The only noticeable gain is slightly faster app launches; otherwise, day‑to‑day use feels identical. Gaming is also similar - Game Turbo caps everything at 60fps to control heat, so responsiveness and frame rates match the Turbo 4. It’s fine for casual play, but not ideal if you want high‑refresh gaming.
The camera is decent and roughly on par with the Turbo 4, though low‑light shots are a little better. That said, ideois a clear improvement; no stutters, fast autofocus, and sharper output without heavy processing artifacts. Battery life trails the Turbo 4 but remains respectable, and charging is fast. 5G performance is oddly slower despite stronger reported signal, though WiFi 7 is excellent.
I grabbed it for £580 from Xiaomi's UK store, which is a solid almost-perfect flagship killer but at a great price.Pros- Bright, responsive screen
- Triple speakers with BOSE tuning
- High capacity battery
- Fast charging
- Good camera performance
- HyperOS pleasurable, good for iOS refugees
Cons- 5G speeds slower than Mediatek
- Performance on-par with slower Mediatek chips
- Battery life not quite up to expectations
- Default speaker profile tuned terribly

Score
- 8.9 Design & Materials
- 9.1 Performance & Hardware
- 8.2 Camera
- 8.5 Connectivity
- 8.2 Battery
In this case, to determine the score we evaluate 5 general aspects:
- Design and screen
- Hardware and performance
- Camera
- Connectivity
- Battery
Once these 5 factors have been rated, we introduce the price variable. This means that any two devices with the same ratings get a different Ki score for quality vs price.
Even a device objectively worse than another may have a higher Ki score if it has a better price.
The Ki varies as time goes by. As new devices with better specifications enter the market the Ki score of older devices will go down, always being compensated of their decrease in price.
