  • I genuinely love this phone, but the constant risk of the green line issue overshadows its otherwise impressive performance

This phone is powered by either the Snapdragon 888 or the Exynos 2100, both of which were flagship processors at the time of release. Because of that, I really enjoy its image and video processing capabilities. The gaming performance is also quite satisfactory for my needs. Genshin Impact can maintain around 60 FPS for a period of time, while CarX Street can run at a relatively stable 30 FPS for a while as well. However, this phone also has several significant drawbacks. The Snapdragon 888 and Exynos 2100 are both well-known for running extremely hot. Even during light daily usage such as browsing social media, the device can reach temperatures of around 40°C when using mobile data. Gaming pushes the temperature even higher. While the phone is capable of delivering 30–60 FPS, it can only sustain that performance temporarily before thermal throttling occurs. In my experience, this results in noticeable frame drops and inconsistent performance due to overheating. Battery life is another weakness. The battery drains fairly quickly, especially under heavy use. The biggest issue, however, is the Dynamic AMOLED 2X display and its infamous green line problem. In some cases, green lines can appear even after a software update and without any physical damage such as drops or impacts. They may simply appear on their own due to certain factors. I acknowledge that this display is one of the phone's greatest strengths in terms of image quality, color reproduction, and overall visual experience. In fact, I genuinely like the screen itself Unfortunately, the green line issue severely affects its reliability. I also understand that this problem is not limited to the Galaxy S21 FE. Reports of similar issues of other Samsung Galaxy S models. Overall, I genuinely like this phone. Most of its shortcomings do not bother me too much. The only flaw that truly concerns me is the green line problem, as it is by far the most frustrating issue with an otherwise excellent device.

What is a Ki score?
Ki is an automatic score based on the specifications and prices of devices. It is calculated using over 200 variables to rank smartphones, tablets and other devices from best to worst.
How do we calculate the Ki?

In this case, to determine the score we evaluate 5 general aspects:

  • Design and screen
  • Hardware and performance
  • Camera
  • Connectivity
  • Battery

Once these 5 factors have been rated, we introduce the price variable. This means that any two devices with the same ratings get a different Ki score for quality vs price.

Even a device objectively worse than another may have a higher Ki score if it has a better price.

Does the Ki score change?

The Ki varies as time goes by. As new devices with better specifications enter the market the Ki score of older devices will go down, always being compensated of their decrease in price.
