The highly anticipated Apple iPhone 14 is set to launch in September 2022 and it promises to be a major upgrade over its predecessors. The iPhone 14 offers an impressive high-end experience, with a 6.1 inch OLED screen with a resolution of 1170x2532 (FHD+) and peak brightness of 1200 cd/m² and a contrast ratio of 2000000:1. It also features HDR10+ for enhanced viewing capabilities. The materials used in the construction of the iPhone 14 are aluminium, ceramics and glass, offering a stunning design with an 86.7% usable surface.

In terms of hardware, the iPhone 14 will be powered by the Apple A15 Bionic processor, manufactured with a 5nm process. It will also feature 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM, 128GB, 256GB or 512GB of storage, and AnTuTu (v9) score of 818,321.

The dual camera of the iPhone 14 will be made up of a 12Mpx standard lens with an f/1.5 aperture, a pixel size of 1.9µm and a CMOS sensor. The wide-angle lens will be 12Mpx with an f/2.4 aperture. For selfies, the phone has a 12Mpx f/1.9 camera with a CMOS sensor. Other features include optical stabilization (OIS), 4K video recording, sensor-shift optical image stabilization, ultra-wide 120° angle field of view with five-element lens, 5x digital zoom, 4K video recording up to 60fps, cinematic mode up to 4K HDR at 30fps, HDR video recording with Dolby Vision up to 4K at 60fps, and slo-mo video support for 1080p at 120/240fps.

Connectivity options on the iPhone 14 include Bluetooth 5.3, dual SIM, NFC, WiFi 6 (802.11ax), and eSIM. The battery on the device is a 3279mAh unit that supports 18W fast charging and wireless charging.

The pros of the Apple iPhone 14 include its camera quality, display quality, camera stabilization, and dust and water resistance. However, the design is not as innovative as expected, the battery life is shorter than most of its competitors and the price is quite high. Nevertheless, it is sure to be one of the best phones on the market when it launches.

The Apple iPhone 14 will launch alongside three other models in the same series – the Apple iPhone 14 Plus, the Apple iPhone 14 Pro, and the Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max. All these models offer the same basic design, with slight variations in terms of the camera and battery setup, as well as the processor and RAM.

Overall, the Apple iPhone 14 is sure to be an impressive device when it launches in September 2022. With its advanced hardware and software, sleek design and intuitive user interface, it is sure to be a top choice for those looking for a reliable and powerful smartphone.

What is a Ki score?
Ki is an automatic score based on the specifications and prices of devices. It is calculated using over 200 variables to rank smartphones, tablets and other devices from best to worst.
How do we calculate the Ki?

In this case, to determine the score we evaluate 5 general aspects:

  • Design and screen
  • Hardware and performance
  • Camera
  • Connectivity
  • Battery

Once these 5 factors have been rated, we introduce the price variable. This means that any two devices with the same ratings get a different Ki score for quality vs price.

Even a device objectively worse than another may have a higher Ki score if it has a better price.

Does the Ki score change?

The Ki varies as time goes by. As new devices with better specifications enter the market the Ki score of older devices will go down, always being compensated of their decrease in price.
