- Honor 400 Pro – A Surprisingly Strong Contender in the High Midrange Segment
I decided to keep the Honor 400 Pro instead of going for the Pixel 9, and honestly... I’m genuinely surprised. Surprised by how close this midrange device comes to true flagship performance.
This phone is what you'd call a flagship killer – or at least one of the most capable in its class.
Build Quality & Design:
The construction is solid, the materials feel premium, and it’s impressively lightweight and slim. It feels high-end in the hand and is comfortable to use.
Performance:
I installed 229 apps – everything went lightning fast, with absolutely no difference compared to the Xiaomi 15 Ultra. Even banking apps and digital wallets worked flawlessly, which honestly shocked me after my buggy experience with Xiaomi.
Display & Sound:
The screen is bright, vivid, and definitely on flagship level. The sound is also surprisingly good.
Camera:
The cameras are great overall. The selfie camera, in particular, is excellent – one of the best in its class. While the main sensor does a solid job, the zoom, ultrawide, and night shots are just average compared to other high-midrange phones.
Battery:
Absolute beast. It lasts easily 30 hours with Always-On Display active for at least 7 hours. Way above expectations, especially for such a slim phone. Solid, solid battery performance.
Software – MagicOS:
After using Xiaomi’s HyperOS, I actually started to appreciate MagicOS more. It feels smoother, more stable, and just better put together – at least in this case. For me, it works better than expected, even though I hadn’t used any Honor phone in a long time.Pros- Premium build, slim and lightweight
- Fast and fluid performance, no lags or bugs
- Excellent battery life (30h+ with 7h AOD)
- Bright, vibrant display
- Surprisingly good speakers
- Excellent selfie camera
Cons- No notification history/log feature
- Face ID for unlocking the phone, not for Apps
- Zoom, ultrawide, and night photos are average for
- 8.4

This phone is impressive in terms of camera, performance, sound, aesthetics, durability, and screen brightness—the 5000 nits are what impressed me most. In terms of performance, I've tested several demanding games like Fortnite, Cars X Street, Genshin Impact, Urban Heat, etc., and it handles them all flawlessly. What also caught my attention is that even after playing for several minutes, it doesn't overheat at all, which is fantastic. And the camera? It's second to none, truly unique in that regard. The sound has good bass, and at medium volume, when you turn it up all the way, the bass diminishes and the treble tends to boost, but for me, it's fine. To find a phone with perfect sound, it should at least have 32-bit color, but that's not my case. I'm happy with this phone. The battery life is quite good, even while gaming or watching videos. The water resistance is excellent—I'd say 5 stars.
