The Motorola Moto G84 is the latest mid-range offering by Motorola, set to be released in September 2023. Despite its mid-range positioning, it offers features and quality that rivals both higher and lower tier models, making it well-suited to the needs of the vast majority of mobile users.

The design of the Moto G84 is both practical and visually pleasing. It employs a vegan leather backing to provide good grip whilst remaining lightweight at 168.3g. The phone's usable surface area is 86.6%, with the screen taking up much of this space. Speaking of the screen, it is an impressive 6.50-inch pOLED display running at a refresh rate of 120 Hz, with 1080x2400 resolution and a peak brightness of 1300 cd/m².

In terms of hardware, the phone comes equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 (SM6375) chipset (6nm), 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM, 256GB of UFS Storage 2.2 (along with MicroSD support) and a benchmark score of 402500 on AnTuTu (v9). Security is provided by a Fingerprint Display.

The camera array consists of a dual-camera setup featuring a 50.0Mpx standard lens and 8.0Mpx wide angle lens, both of which provide excellent image quality. Optical stabilization (OIS) and FOV 118° ultra-wide angle coverage add to the overall package. For selfies, there is a 16.0Mpx camera with f/2.45 aperture and 1.000 pixel size.

Other features include stereo speakers, Hi-Res Audio and Dolby Atmos support, Bluetooth 5.1, Dual SIM, NFC, Audio Jack and WiFi 6 (802.11ax). Powering all these components is a generous 5000mAh battery, which can be quickly recharged using the 30W fast charge technology.

The Motorola Moto G84 is a powerful and feature-packed mid-range phone. It provides excellent quality for the price, and should be well-received by those looking to buy a device that won't break the bank but still has plenty to offer.

It is an elegant phone, very fluid and with good connectivity.

My family uses Motorola so I also decided to switch, this G84 is good, it has a good design, a loud sound, a large internal memory and its battery, but the cameras are of poor quality and also its pure system, which I feel is missing more options for customize the equipment well. But it is a good device.

Nice and cheap, for casual user

The design steals attention, the screen is excellent and I love the way it sounds. Its performance is good for not very demanding games. The battery lasts a day and a half, and it charges very quickly. The camera is the only weak point of this device.

A great cell phone, considering its specifications, outstanding in terms of screen and sound quality

Cell phone with relatively good power, runs some games with good graphic quality, reaching a maximum of 44°C on an average of 41°C in terms of temperature. Camera issue, in photos it is quite pleasant, considering the 50 MPX, with OIS (Optical Stabilization) which helps the image to have more quality in a way, but the disappointing thing is its 2 MPX Macro/Ultra Wide , what could be better, and when recording, it is disappointing, presenting noise and taking into account FHD recording. In terms of audio, you have nothing to complain about, as Dolby Atmos with Hi-Res and Spatial Sound provides enormous sound quality on any occasion.

    What is a Ki score?
Ki is an automatic score based on the specifications and prices of devices. It is calculated using over 200 variables to rank smartphones, tablets and other devices from best to worst.
How do we calculate the Ki?

In this case, to determine the score we evaluate 5 general aspects:

    • Design and screen
    • Hardware and performance
    • Camera
    • Connectivity
    • Battery

Once these 5 factors have been rated, we introduce the price variable. This means that any two devices with the same ratings get a different Ki score for quality vs price.

Even a device objectively worse than another may have a higher Ki score if it has a better price.

    Does the Ki score change?

The Ki varies as time goes by. As new devices with better specifications enter the market the Ki score of older devices will go down, always being compensated of their decrease in price.
