Design & Materials

The Samsung Galaxy S26+ features a sleek and premium design, with a stunning AMOLED display measuring 6.70 inches and a resolution of 1440x3120 (WQHD+). The screen supports a refresh rate of 120 Hz, ensuring smooth and responsive visuals, and a peak brightness of 2600 cd/m² for vibrant colors and sharp contrast. With HDR10+ support, users can enjoy an immersive viewing experience with lifelike colors and deep blacks. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2, offering superior durability and scratch resistance.

In terms of audio, the Galaxy S26+ comes equipped with stereo speakers for rich and immersive sound quality, along with Hi-Res Audio support for high-fidelity audio playback. Additionally, the device features noise cancellation microphones to ensure crystal-clear voice calls even in noisy environments. The materials used in the construction of the smartphone include aluminium and glass, giving it a premium look and feel.

Hardware

Under the hood, the Samsung Galaxy S26+ is powered by the cutting-edge Samsung Exynos 2600 processor built on a 2nm process, delivering exceptional performance and energy efficiency. Paired with 12GB of RAM (LPDDR5X), the S26+ is capable of handling multitasking and demanding applications with ease. Users can choose between two storage options: 256GB or 512GB of UFS Storage 4.1, providing ample space for apps, games, photos, and videos. In terms of performance, the device scores an impressive 2825000 on the AnTuTu benchmark, showcasing its raw processing power.

To ensure data security, the Samsung Galaxy S26+ features a fingerprint display for convenient and secure authentication. Additionally, the device comes equipped with a cooling system to prevent overheating during intensive tasks, maintaining optimal performance even under heavy loads.

Camera

One of the standout features of the Samsung Galaxy S26+ is its triple camera setup, which includes a 50.0MP Samsung GN3 main sensor with an aperture of f/1.8, delivering stunning detail and clarity in photos and videos. The wide-angle lens features a 12.2MP Sony IMX564 sensor with an aperture of f/2.2, while the telephoto lens sports a 10.0MP Samsung S5K3K1 sensor with an aperture of f/2.4. For selfies, the device boasts a 12.0MP front-facing camera with an aperture of f/2.2.

Other camera features include optical stabilization (OIS) for shake-free images and videos, support for 4K and 8K video recording, telephoto capabilities with OIS up to 3x zoom, digital zoom up to 30x, and an ultra-wide-angle lens with a field of view of 120º. With these advanced camera capabilities, users can capture professional-quality photos and videos in any lighting conditions.

Connectivity

In terms of connectivity, the Samsung Galaxy S26+ offers a comprehensive set of features, including Bluetooth 5.4, dual SIM support, NFC for contactless payments, WiFi 6 (802.11ax) for fast and stable wireless internet connections, GPS with L1 and L5 support for accurate location tracking, and eSIM compatibility for added convenience.

Battery

Powering the Samsung Galaxy S26+ is a robust 4900mAh battery, providing all-day battery life to keep users connected and productive. The device supports fast charging up to 45.0W for quick top-ups, as well as wireless charging for added convenience. Additionally, the S26+ features reverse charging, allowing users to wirelessly charge other devices using their smartphone's battery.

Summary

In conclusion, the Samsung Galaxy S26+ is a high-end flagship smartphone that excels in various aspects, including its impressive battery life, powerful processor, and exceptional camera quality. However, some drawbacks such as the absence of a mini-jack and FM Radio, as well as the charging speed, may be considerations for potential buyers. Overall, the Samsung Galaxy S26+ stands out as a top-tier smartphone that offers a premium user experience with its advanced features and cutting-edge technology.

    Personal review

This is a good phone. The camera, with its good options, performs wonderfully in bright conditions. The quality is natural and without strange colors. The ultra-wide-angle lens is good, but the front camera could be improved. It has good contrast and maintains quality during continuous zoom. As for night mode, I was quite surprised because it has improved significantly; even the ultra-wide-angle lens performed excellently. The battery improves over time, learning your usage patterns and optimizing accordingly. The Exynos 2600 is surprisingly good; it doesn't struggle or get stressed like the previous generation. It maintains a good average FPS in various games. AMD clearly put effort into improving the GPU, and it shows on several occasions; it runs cooler than the Snapdragon model. On the other hand, its weak point is the ultra-wide-angle camera, which could be improved with an update, but overall, it performs well in good conditions. Video recording is its strong point; it's very stable, and the colors are very vibrant. The log format is helpful for editing. Overall, it gets an 8.5 out of 10 for cameras.

Great phone, but with few new features.

Great phone, good cameras for everyday use (they're the same as the S25+). Excellent performance, but the Exynos processor overheats in games that require graphics processing. Battery is okay, it lasts from the beginning of the day until 4 PM. The 45W charging, although low, charges very well; the wireless charger has improved and is now at 25W. The screen deserves more features, a higher brightness, as daytime visibility is compromised. The privacy screen that the S26 Ultra has should be included across the entire line, justifying the upgrade for those coming from previous Samsung lines. The AI features greatly facilitate daily life, but it's not exclusive to this line as it's a software feature; any update can bring the same functions to previous lines. Being the latest release, it comes with the most recent version of One UI 8.5 and promises 7 years of Android updates.

What is a Ki score?
Ki is an automatic score based on the specifications and prices of devices. It is calculated using over 200 variables to rank smartphones, tablets and other devices from best to worst.
How do we calculate the Ki?

In this case, to determine the score we evaluate 5 general aspects:

  • Design and screen
  • Hardware and performance
  • Camera
  • Connectivity
  • Battery

Once these 5 factors have been rated, we introduce the price variable. This means that any two devices with the same ratings get a different Ki score for quality vs price.

Even a device objectively worse than another may have a higher Ki score if it has a better price.

Does the Ki score change?

The Ki varies as time goes by. As new devices with better specifications enter the market the Ki score of older devices will go down, always being compensated of their decrease in price.
