Introducing the Ulefone Power Armor 19: The Unstoppable Rugged Smartphone
Ulefone has just released the Ulefone Power Armor 19, a rugged mid-range smartphone designed for the toughest environments. The Power Armor 19 is built to take a beating, boasting an incredible IP68 rating and an integrated thermal imaging camera. It’s also the world’s first rugged smartphone with a 6.58 inch LCD IPS screen with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a resolution of 1080x2408 (FHD+).
Starting with the design of the Ulefone Power Armor 19, the phone is encased in a polycarbonate body, with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protecting the screen. Ulefone took their time to make sure their usable surface was as big as possible, achieving a 71% ratio. Of course, the most important part of the design is the fact that it’s a rugged smartphone. Ulefone have built the Power Armor 19 to withstand dust, shock, vibration, extreme temperatures, and up to 1.5 meters of water for 30 minutes.
As for hardware, the Ulefone Power Armor 19 packs a MediaTek Helio G99 (MT6789) processor (6nm), 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS Storage 2.1. The AnTuTu (v9) score is 463000. This is enough power to handle your everyday tasks, with the bonus of some serious durability. Other features include a fingerprint sensor on the side, NFC, WiFi 6 (802.11ax), dual SIM, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS (L1+L5) and audio jack.
On the back of the Power Armor 19 is a quad-camera setup made up of a Samsung S5KHM2 108MP standard lens, Samsung S5K5E9 5MP macro lens, Samsung S5K4H7 8MP wide-angle lens and a 5MP thermal sensor. On the front is a Sony IMX481 16MP selfie camera. The Power Armor 19 can also shoot 4K video and comes with an integrated FLIR® thermal imaging camera. The phone also has a FLIR Lepton thermal imaging module with a horizontal FOV of 57°, a thermal resolution of 160x120 and a measurable temperature range of -10℃ - 400℃.
Finally, the Ulefone Power Armor 19 is powered by a 9600mAh battery, with 66.0W fast charging and wireless charging support.
In conclusion, the Ulefone Power Armor 19 is a great option for outdoor adventurers and tradespeople who need a dependable, rugged, mid-range smartphone. With its robust build, waterproofing, thermal imaging capabilities and powerful hardware, the Ulefone Power Armor 19 is an impressive device. It will be available from January 2023.

- AutoIt's a bit paradoxical how it resists falls but falls apart on its own over the months.
It's like having one of the cheapest mid-range phones, the performance, the photos and the daily use are quite mediocre for what it costs. If you could say at least that it works well being a rugged phone resistant to dust and water, but not even that, I tested its water resistance only once and it was fine, the problem came when the months went by and software problems began to appear (if it turned off it would reset to factory settings and I would lose everything) the rubbers began to burn and fall apart, the rubber back part came off completely, sweat started to get in through the headphone jack which after the rubber that waterproofed it burned it started to give false touches on the screen due to the same sweat until in just 16 months of use it broke down. It resisted well the 2 or 3 falls it suffered approximately 1m high (from my pocket) but not the passage of time, all the rubber parts it had came off and burned. To top it off, I was never able to charge it with the 66W fast charger I had because it would get so hot that I couldn't touch it (that's deadly for the battery).
In short, a very bad experience. For that price, I would have preferred to buy a good mid-range phone and put a protector and a mica on it and it would have turned out much better. In the end, it didn't break down because it fell in water or because of dust but simply because of the passage of time. I have had other phones like the Redmis like the Redmi Note 7 and the Redmi 7 (my wife) and they have suffered even much worse conditions than he suffered and they lasted me 4 years. I felt scammed and disappointed with this type of phone, specifically this brand, after the purchase I do not recommend it at all. Now I have a $300 paperweight that is of no use to me. I really recommend buying a mid-range phone that has many better features for that price and put a good cover and a good mica on it.Pros- Gorillaz Glass 5
