Introducing the Vivo X90 - The High-End Smartphone of 2022

Vivo has announced its newest flagship phone, the Vivo X90. Aimed at high-end users, the Vivo X90 promises to deliver a unique combination of technology and design to meet the needs of modern users.

The Vivo X90 is part of a larger series of phones, including the Vivo X90 Pro+ and the Vivo X90 Pro. It is set to be released in November 2022.

Design & Materials

The Vivo X90 features a 6.78” OLED screen with an impressive WQHD+ resolution of 1260x2800 and a peak brightness of 1300 cd/m2. It also boasts a refresh rate of 120 Hz and an 8000000:1 contrast ratio. The Dual Edge display and HDR10+ support provide an immersive viewing experience.

The Vivo X90 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9200 (4nm) processor. It is available with 8GB or 12GB of RAM as well as 128GB, 256GB, or 512GB of UFS Storage 3.1/UFS Storage 4.0. With an AnTuTu (v9) score of 1250000, it has benchmarked one of the highest scores of any smartphone.

The phone is equipped with a Fingerprint Display for enhanced security. It also has a 4313mm² wide-area vapor chamber for the cooling system.

Camera

The Vivo X90 comes with a quad camera setup consisting of a standard Sony IMX866 50.0Mpx lens with an f/1.75 aperture and CMOS image sensor, a secondary Sony IMX663 12.0Mpx wide angle lens with an f/2.0 aperture and an Omnivision OV64B 64.0Mpx telephoto lens with an f/3.5 aperture.

The selfie camera is a Samsung S5KGD2 32.0Mpx lens with an f/2.45 aperture. Other features include 4K video recording, optical stabilization, a 7P lens, 108° ultra-wide angle lens, 2x zoom with depth sensor, Zeiss T* coating certification, Vivo V2 image chip, and a depth camera with OIS.

Connectivity

The Vivo X90 supports Bluetooth 5.3, a dual SIM, NFC, WiFi 6 (802.11ax), GPS (L1+L5), and infrared.

Battery

The Vivo X90 is equipped with a 4810mAh battery and supports a fast charge of up to 120W.

What is a Ki score?

How do we calculate the Ki?

In this case, to determine the score we evaluate 5 general aspects:

  • Hardware and performance
  • Camera
  • Connectivity
  • Battery

Once these 5 factors have been rated, we introduce the price variable. This means that any two devices with the same ratings get a different Ki score for quality vs price.

Even a device objectively worse than another may have a higher Ki score if it has a better price.

Does the Ki score change?

The Ki varies as time goes by. As new devices with better specifications enter the market the Ki score of older devices will go down, always being compensated of their decrease in price.
