The Xiaomi Redmi 9T is the latest low-end entry in the Redmi series from Xiaomi, one of the most popular smartphone brands. Featuring a 6.53-inch LTPS LCD display with a resolution of 1080x2340 (FHD+) and 400 cd/m² brightness, the Redmi 9T is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 (11nm) chipset, paired with 4GB and 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 64GB or 128GB of UFS storage. Its design utilizes a plastic material on the back and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 featuring an 83.1% usable surface area.
The Redmi 9T features a powerful quad-camera setup consisting of a 48.0Mpx Samsung S5KGM1 snapper, an 8.0Mpx Omnivision OV8856 ultra-wide angle lens, a 2.0Mpx portrait mode lens and a 2.0Mpx macro lens for optimal performance. It is also capable of taking 4K videos and has an ultra wide angle lens 120º with 6P lens for better visuals. The selfie shooter comes in at 8.0Mpx with a CMOS sensor and f/2.0 aperture. Audio wise, the device comes with stereo speakers and Hi-Res audio.
On the connectivity side, the Redmi 9T is equipped with Bluetooth 5.0, Dual SIM, NFC, an audio jack, and infrared. To power all of this, the device comes with a large capacity 6000mAh battery with an 18W fast charge and reverse charging capabilities.
The pros and cons of the Xiaomi Redmi 9T are mostly centered around its features such as its large battery and fast charge capabilities, as well as its NFC support, but it lacks a notification LED and doesn’t have a fingerprint unlock option, as well as poor night photos due to its low end specs.
Overall, the Xiaomi Redmi 9T is a great device for those who want a low-end device that delivers great performance without breaking the bank. With its long lasting battery and AI-enhanced camera abilities, the Redmi 9T is a great choice for those on a tight budget. Other models in the series include the Xiaomi Redmi 9, Xiaomi Redmi 9C, Xiaomi Redmi 9A, Xiaomi Redmi 9AT, Xiaomi Redmi 9i, Xiaomi Redmi 9 Power, and Xiaomi Redmi 9 Activ, all of which offer slightly different specifications than the Redmi 9T.

- A Redmi Note 8 with a super huge battery
Let's preface this review with one thing I am very impressed about this device - the humongous 6000 mAh battery. This thing is built like a tank, and it definitely shows - you can get very comfortable using it throughout the day without bringing a single charger with you, which it should, since the charging speed is sub-par. Other than that, the back design is very tacky - best to find a case for it. Everything else is average - screen, audio, camera, etc... Just what you can expect from a Redmi device. The Snapdragon 662 performs about what you should expect, fine with light usage, cannot handle anything remotely taxing. For a 3 years old device though, it's totally fine for people who just want a cheapo device with average marks in everything.
