The Xiaomi Redmi K60 Extreme Edition is the latest flagship smartphone from the Xiaomi family. It is part of the Redmi K60 series which includes the Pro, Standard, and E variants. Released in August 2023, the Redmi K60 Extreme Edition boasts a range of impressive specifications and features making it one of the most powerful smartphones available on the market.

The phone has an OLED display with a 6.67-inch size, along with a resolution of 1220x2712 (QHD), a refresh rate of 144Hz, a peak brightness of 2600 cd/m2 and a 5000000:1 contrast ratio that supports HDR10+. To ensure maximum sound quality, the device features stereo speakers, Hi-Res Audio, Dolby Atmos, and a plastic material for its usable surface of 87.1%.

At the heart of the phone lies the MediaTek Dimensity 9200 Plus (4nm) processor accompanied by 12GB/16GB/24GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. This outstanding combination of hardware translates into an Antutu V10 score of 1774714, leaving most other smartphones in its dust. The battery is also noteworthy, coming in at 5000mAh with 120W fast charging capabilities. Security wise, the phone is equipped with a Fingerprint Display for added safety. Additionally, the phone also has a cooling system with a 5000 mm² stainless steel VC + graphene micro-nano thermal cavity.

Packed with a triple camera setup, the rear shooters on the Redmi K60 Extreme Edition consist of a standard Sony IMX800 sensor with 54.0Mpx and f/1.7 aperture, a wide-angle lens Sony IMX355 with 8.0Mpx and f/2.4 aperture, and a macro lens GalaxyCore GC02M1 with 2.0Mpx and f/2.4 aperture. For selfies, the phone has a Sony IMX596 with 20.0Mpx with an unknown aperture. All of the cameras support optical stabilization (OIS), and record videos in 4K or 8K resolutions using a 7P lens and ultra wide angle lens of 119º.

Connectivity options include Bluetooth 5.4, Dual SIM, NFC, WiFi 6 (802.11ax), GPS (L1+L5), and Infrared. The Xiaomi Redmi K60 Extreme Edition is without doubt one of the best high-end smartphones in its price segment. Its powerful hardware, modern camera array, long-lasting battery, and smart features make it an attractive choice for those looking for a powerful and efficient phone.

Excellent device with a quality-price ratio.

I received it on the first of September. For $12,600 MXN I acquired it through MiPhone in its 24 RAM/1 TB version. It always runs smoothly for day-to-day tasks, the battery with varied or normal use lasts well for a day and I have plenty left over when I return. And in demanding tasks or games simply powerful. It doesn't cost it at all and it doesn't overheat, I really like that MediaTek has done well in trying to keep performance as constant as possible and it shows. A very good phone in my opinion, but without comparing it to the top of the range, especially in the photographic section. I feel like Xiaomi should never have left telephoto sensors aside for devices in this price range. Daytime shots are quite good with the main sensor and with the other lenses, well, you can say that they are not the best, just passable. It does not have wireless charging either, but in return IP68 is present. Also, I like how there is no struggle to view the screen in the sun. The sound is powerful with its speakers. Since it is a Chinese version, let us remember that it only has English as an understandable option for us in the West, if that does not represent a problem for you, go ahead. However, if we look for Spanish or some other language we have alternatives such as: - Add the Xiaomi EU Custom ROM, but with the developers' Patreon subscription for $200 MXN to receive the download links. - Root the device and install a language package module and many other useful things. One of the advantages of being a Chinese version is that the software for this type of mobile is always more fluid, more polished than the global versions (a shame since the global market has given strength to these brands). Let's hope that the 5 years of support that Xiaomi promised to give the user are fulfilled. It is a device that I do not regret, it fully covers my needs.

    • Powerful, stable processor with good energy consumption.
    • Good main sensor for the camera.
    • Excellent shine under the sun.
    • IP68 certified.
    • Plenty of memories: LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 ROM
    • Good battery performance.
    • It does not have wireless charging.
    • Little software development for MediaTek (ROMs).
    • He doesn't bring Spanish.

What is a Ki score?
Ki is an automatic score based on the specifications and prices of devices. It is calculated using over 200 variables to rank smartphones, tablets and other devices from best to worst.
How do we calculate the Ki?

In this case, to determine the score we evaluate 5 general aspects:

  • Design and screen
  • Hardware and performance
  • Camera
  • Connectivity
  • Battery

Once these 5 factors have been rated, we introduce the price variable. This means that any two devices with the same ratings get a different Ki score for quality vs price.

Even a device objectively worse than another may have a higher Ki score if it has a better price.

Does the Ki score change?

The Ki varies as time goes by. As new devices with better specifications enter the market the Ki score of older devices will go down, always being compensated of their decrease in price.
