Description

Xiaomi with its sub-brand Redmi has wanted to continue in the competitive world of the mid-range and as it did with the Redmi Note 7, it has launched a mobile with the best quality / price ratio of the 2019 year: The Redmi Note 8 .

A super camera for a mid-range mobile

One of the points where Xiaomi has wanted to take care with this terminal is in the photographic aspect and has incorporated up to 4 cameras that provide us with the best possible experience in a mobile of this price range. The main one has a Samsung S5KGM1 sensor of 48 megapixels that delight anyone in good light conditions and does not fall short when the light begins to run out. It is accompanied by a wide angle sensor that allows us to obtain these panoramic photographs without having to opt for special modes. It also has a special 2Megapixels Macro sensor for photographing nearby objects. Finally, it adds a fourth 2 Megapixel sensor that allows you to manage the Bokeh effect for our blur effects. On the front we have a great camera of 13 Megapixels for our selfies within a drop notch.

Processor... more than enough

In this case Xiaomi has opted for the use of Snapdragon 665, a processor more than tested within the mid-range, capable of moving our multimedia content with solvency, although to be fair it is not enough to move the most demanding games in its highest resolution . While it is true that Xiaomi has equipped this mobile with several Ram / Rom settings that allow us to choose the one that best suits our needs, from 3GB / 32GB, to the most powerful 4GB / 128GB, through the 4GB configuration / 64GB that is possibly the most balanced of all.

Battery to hold the day

Lately 4000mAh mobiles are being imposed, of course it is an optimal capacity to allow us to withstand our days with a more demanding use without problems. As if that were not enough, Xiaomi has added fast charging so that we can have the mobile ready in just 1 hour and 20 minutes.

We miss the absence of NFC, which have incorporated the Redmi Note 8T, although in return Xiaomi has not forgotten to add the FM radio and the notifications LED.

Finding the best price for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 is no easy task. Here you will find where to buy the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 at the best price. Prices are continuously tracked in over 140 stores so that you can find a reputable dealer with the best price

After 5 weeks of waiting I finally received the Xiaomi redmi note 8 smartphone.
Just like the Redmi note 7 that I used until now, the Redmi note 8 is a Xiaomi 4G smartphone with an impressive value for money.

In terms of performance, the Redmi note 8 smartphone is equipped with a SnapDragon 665.
This SOC is mid-range oriented and allows fluid use of all the applications that can be found in the play store.
Coupled with this SOC, we have the choice of having 3 or 4 GB of RAM and 32 or 64 GB of storage.

Antutu Redmi Note 8: 173991 points

The 6.3 inch screen is great, just a notch like drop on the top of the screen.
The colors, the brightness, the viewing angles .... are clearly under control.

The 4000 mAh autonomy of the Redmi note 8 smartphone is comfortable and can last between one to two days with fairly sustained use of the phone.

The Redmi note 8 camera is really good.

  • Excellent 2019 midrange phone in budget price

Got it for just about 140USD online flash sale on a local e-commerce platform but it actually ships from China with global firmware. Recognized by Antutu and serial number is verified authentic in Xiaomi verification website page. The price-performance ratio for all the bells and whistles that came with it is actually very good. Satisfactory performance and quality on sounds and calls. Mobile signals, wireless connections, bluetooth, GPS and IR works well but the wireless FM still needs a headphone to be usable so it's not wireless at all. Display is also good for an IPS but nothing more to write home about. Got a system software update already after less than 24 hours of usage. Battery life and charging performance are within expected parameters.

    Positives
    • Excellent price-performance ratio
    • Tri-slot, IR blaster
    • Good front and rear daylight camera performance
    • Gorilla Glass 5, some splash protection
    Negatives

What is a Ki score?
Ki is an automatic score based on the specifications and prices of devices. It is calculated using over 200 variables to rank smartphones, tablets and other devices from best to worst.
How do we calculate the Ki?

In this case, to determine the score we evaluate 5 general aspects:

  • Design and screen
  • Hardware and performance
  • Camera
  • Connectivity
  • Battery

Once these 5 factors have been rated, we introduce the price variable. This means that any two devices with the same ratings get a different Ki score for quality vs price.

Even a device objectively worse than another may have a higher Ki score if it has a better price.

Does the Ki score change?

The Ki varies as time goes by. As new devices with better specifications enter the market the Ki score of older devices will go down, always being compensated of their decrease in price.
