Design and Materials

In terms of design, the iPhone 14 and Galaxy S23 are both crafted from premium materials such as aluminium and glass. The Galaxy S23 has an extra layer of Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 offering increased durability over the iPhone 14. The iPhone 14 is said to have an 86.7% screen-to-body ratio, while the Galaxy S23 will have a higher 87.6%.

Both devices offer stereo speakers and a noise cancellation microphone. Audio on the iPhone 14 is powered by Dolby Atmos, DTS/DTS X, and Dolby Digital Plus. The Galaxy S23 has no audio enhancement features.

Hardware

The iPhone 14 is powered by the new Apple A15 Bionic chipset with 5nm technology and 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM. It will be available in three storage configurations – 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB. According to some benchmarks, the device is said to have an AnTuTu score of 1324887.

The Galaxy S23 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen2 4nm processor with 8GB of RAM. It will be available in three storage variations – 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB – featuring UFS Storage 3.1 and UFS Storage 4.0. According to leaks, the device is said to have a score of 1456671 on AnTuTu.

Camera

The iPhone 14 has a dual rear camera setup comprising of a 12MP standard sensor and a 12MP wide-angle lens. It also offers a 12MP selfie camera. The device supports Optical Stabilization (OIS), 4K video recording at 60fps, HDR video recording with Dolby Vision up to 4K at 60fps, and has slo-mo video support for 1080p at 120fps or 240fps.

The Galaxy S23 has a triple rear camera setup comprising of a 50MP Samsung GN5 primary sensor, a 12.2MP Sony IMX564 wide-angle lens, and a 10MP telephoto lens. It also has a 12MP selfie camera. It supports Optical Stabilization (OIS), 4K and 8K video recording, 3X Optical Zoom, 30X Digital Zoom, and more.

Connectivity

Both the Apple iPhone 14 and Samsung Galaxy S23 offer Bluetooth 5.3, Dual SIM, NFC, and WiFi 6 (802.11ax) for connectivity. The iPhone 14 also includes eSIM. Both devices also come with support for GPS (L1+L5).

Battery

The Apple iPhone 14 is equipped with a 3279mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging and wireless charging. The Samsung Galaxy S23 has a larger 3900mAh battery with 25W fast charging and wireless charging. The Galaxy S23 also offers reverse charging.
