Unveiling the Samsung Galaxy S23; High-end Flagship

Samsung is set to release their latest flagship device this February, the Samsung Galaxy S23. This revolutionary piece of technology marks a huge leap forward in terms of quality and capability, becoming a great rival for other top brands in the market.

The S23 features a modern design with the classic materials, including the 6.10” AMOLED screen, Gorilla Glass Victus 2, and aluminium combined to create an attractive finish that is both elegant and stylish at the same time. Its usable surface offer an 87,6% to deliver an immersive experience. Paired with a resolution of 1080 x 2340, a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a maximum brightness level of HBM - 1200 cd/m² and a contrast ratio of 3000000:1, HDR10+, faithful and clear visuals and smooth transitions are promised.

The phone will also be equipped with stereo speakers and a noise cancellation microphone, both of which will ensure crystal clear audio.

Turning our attention to the hardware side of things, the Samsung Galaxy S23 will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen2 (4nm) processor, coupled with 8GB RAM and 128GB, 256GB or 512GB UFS storage, giving it enough power to tackle any task. It has recently achieved an Antutu (v9) score of 1148900. The device also comes with a fingerprint display for added security.

In terms of its camera setup, the Samsung Galaxy S23 comes with a triple camera setup on the back. The first is a 50.0Mpx standard Samsung GN5 lens, with a pixel size of 1.000, ISOCELL technology and an f/1.8 aperture. There is also a 12.2Mpx Sony IMX564 wide angle lens with an f/2.2 aperture, and a 10.0Mpx telephoto lens with an f/2.4 aperture. The cameras come with features such as optical image stabilization (OIS), 4K/ 8K video recording and 3x optical zoom as well as a 30x digital zoom. On the front there’s a 12.0Mpx Samsung S5K3LU selfie camera with an f/2.2 aperture.

The phone is also extremely future proofed in terms of connectivity, offering plenty of options including Bluetooth 5.3, dual SIM, USB Host 3.0, NFC, WiFi 6 (802.11ax), GPS (L1+L5) and eSIM.

Finally, the Samsung Galaxy S23 comes with a strong battery capacity of 3900 mAh, fast charging at 25W, wireless charging and reverse charging.

Overall, the Samsung Galaxy S23 looks set to be an impressive addition to the range of high-end smartphones in the market. With its powerful hardware, great cameras, and range of exciting features, it looks set to be a great success when it launches in February 2023. There will also be two additional models in the same series; the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra and the Samsung Galaxy S23+.

What is a Ki score?
Ki is an automatic score based on the specifications and prices of devices. It is calculated using over 200 variables to rank smartphones, tablets and other devices from best to worst.
How do we calculate the Ki?

In this case, to determine the score we evaluate 5 general aspects:

  • Design and screen
  • Hardware and performance
  • Camera
  • Connectivity
  • Battery

Once these 5 factors have been rated, we introduce the price variable. This means that any two devices with the same ratings get a different Ki score for quality vs price.

Even a device objectively worse than another may have a higher Ki score if it has a better price.

Does the Ki score change?

The Ki varies as time goes by. As new devices with better specifications enter the market the Ki score of older devices will go down, always being compensated of their decrease in price.
