Ulefone Armor 21 – Pushing the Limits of Mid-Range Smartphones

Ulefone, a leading player in the world of smartphones, has unveiled its newest mid-range device, the Ulefone Armor 21. The phone is set to be released in May 2023, so it’s already garnering a lot of attention from tech enthusiasts and mobile aficionados alike.

Design and Materials

The Armor 21 has been built with an LCD IPS screen at 6.58 inches, and a resolution of 1080x2408 (FHD+). As well as this, it offers a 120hz refresh rate for those who enjoy smooth game-play on their device. Its 77.4% usable surface makes for ease of use, while the polycarbonate body makes for a sturdy and robust phone. What’s more, Ulefone have included a rugged feature in the form of a unique protective covering which increases resistance to falls and rain.

Audio

One exciting aspect of the Ulefone Armor 21 is its audio. With one of the loudest speakers currently available (122db), a 3.5W peak wattage, smart PA high volume boost, and a 36mm speaker diameter, you can be sure that no matter what type of media you’re playing on your phone, it will be heard clearly. Additionally, Ulefone included an 11.5cc-equivalent large sound cavity design to optimize sound quality for its users.

Hardware

As expected from a mid-range device, the Ulefone Armor 21 has some impressive hardware specs. It’s powered by a MediaTek Helio G99 (MT6789) processor, with a 6nm architecture. This processor is paired with 8GB LPDDR4X RAM, and 256GB UFS Storage 2.1. It’s also equipped with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, for an added level of security.

Camera

In terms of camera set-up, the Armor 21 provides a Sony IMX686 Exmor RS with a 64.0MP shot. This includes an f/1.9 aperture and a CMOS sensor. For taking shots in low-light environments, Ulefone included a night vision camera, with 20.0MP and an f/1.8 aperture. On the front, you get a Sony IMX481, with 16.0MP and an f/2.2 aperture.

Connectivity

When it comes to connectivity, the Ulefone Armor 21 is no slouch either. It comes with Bluetooth 5.2, dual SIM, NFC, audio jack, infrared, Endoscope E1, uSmart E02, and a uSmart C01 Supermicroscope. Allowing you to connect to a wide range of devices, these features should be more than enough for most users.

Battery

Like any modern smartphone, the Ulefone Armor 21 is equipped with a hefty battery. Coming in at 9600mAh, the device has a fast charge time of 33.0W. This should allow you to power through your day without the worry of running out of juice quickly.

Conclusion

Overall, the Ulefone Armor 21 looks to be a solid mid-range device. With an impressive array of features, and a top tier hardware spec, the phone should provide a great experience for fans of mid-range devices. It’s set to release in May 2023, so until then, keep an eye out for leaks and more information about this impressive offering from Ulefone.

  • Horrible DATA Connection

When I been a UleFone fan for a couple of years and had multiple devices from them.

This armor21 however is extremely disappointing. It does not want to connect to the 4G network and it is also extremely slow while connecting to the 3G network I had to switch carriers to see if that would resolve the issue and unfortunately it did not now I'm stuck with this phone for the foreseeable future until they provide some sort of update that allows us to connect properly to both 4G and 3G.

It is also disappointing that this is their flagship device and it does not connect to the 5G Network which is what is standard now amongst most phones.

The software also has numerous bugs and I had to restart the phone factory restart the phone I should say multiple times now.

Customer service on this phone is extremely slow and they do not want to help I sent them videos of the phone glitching out and they told me that it wasn't a uniform until I sent them a video showing them the model and name on the back of the device.

Overall I'm very disappointed and I do not recommend this brand I'll be looking for a new rugged phone

    What is a Ki score?
Ki is an automatic score based on the specifications and prices of devices. It is calculated using over 200 variables to rank smartphones, tablets and other devices from best to worst.
How do we calculate the Ki?

In this case, to determine the score we evaluate 5 general aspects:

    • Design and screen
    • Hardware and performance
    • Camera
    • Connectivity
    • Battery

Once these 5 factors have been rated, we introduce the price variable. This means that any two devices with the same ratings get a different Ki score for quality vs price.

Even a device objectively worse than another may have a higher Ki score if it has a better price.

    Does the Ki score change?

The Ki varies as time goes by. As new devices with better specifications enter the market the Ki score of older devices will go down, always being compensated of their decrease in price.
